In the clips I could find from today's scrimmage with the Saints, Land had at least one sack, possibly two.

That follows two sacks in the scrimmage with the Rams, and one and another pressure in the preseason game against the Seahawks.

Maybe it's just the fact that he's better than other teams' backup linemen, but he's looking like he belongs on the roster.

I hope so, we need some LBs with a little heft,,, heck, we just need some LBs!

He showed up in Seattle as well . I’m hoping he makes the club and plays during the season .

I'd like to see him moved up to the second team (in other words, receive starter snaps in the next preseason game). He's shown he deserves the opportunity to show he can do it against better backups. These guys down the depth chart, it's hard to tell if their success is because they belong or because they are going against guys who may barely make a practice squad.

Whose spot will he take?

Fangio’s Eagles carried five edges last year, as did the Clowboys, although there were a few weeks where each had six but I think that was usually due someone being inactive due to injury

Left OLB: Gary, Houston
Right OLB: Eze, Miller
Rotational: Lawrence

Cut: Williams, Land, Liufau, Wheat

They already might have to stretch the WR room. Can’t carry extra bodies in every group.

That is a good point . This is Land’s second camp of some positive play . At some point you have to believe he’s got something .

I think we could carry six OLBs. Right now, I'd keep Land over Williams. I'd probably go with five ILBs (Overshown, Winters, Barham, James and Barron), five DTs and 10 DBs. That puts me at 26, so we'd have to go a little light on offense. At the moment, I'd go 2 QBs, 4 RBs, 6 WRs, 3 TEs and 9 OL. I believe that puts me at 24.

I would go light at RB. We don’t have much talent there. We can trade for one during the season if someone gets hurt.

can he play some off ball LB and be a hybrid that can come off the edge as well as rush from the MLB spot?

We could. I'd rather keep Davis and Blue as backups, though, and Luepke isn't going anywhere. I don't think we have any real reason to carry Howell on the 53 and I'm not impressed enough with our OL depth to go 10 there.

That’s pretty much exactly what they did last year

Here was 53 man cut down 2025
Edge: 6
DT: 5
LB: 5
S: 4
CB: 6

This.

I’d actually go with 4 ILB’s to do it.

I think there’s more talent at edge that inside linebacker and I’d stock my roster accordingly.

There is very little chance he makes the 53 unless we have an injury or we trade Sam Williams for a draft pick.

I think so too. If he keeps on like this, I hope they can fit him on the 53. I think he's earning it.

Bye Sam!!!

Long overdue, I think they should try to shop Sam Williams and see what we can get back for him. Unfortunately, there have been a lot of injuries around the league of late. We might be able to get more out of a trade for him than normal.

OH man..

OK if you feel that way I get it but yes you are overreacting to the backup thing you remember when this guy was here the first time you remember when the 1st time Julius Woods was here you remember all those other guys we discussed about a month ago that used to be these pet cats and they were camp heroes and they showed out in preseason and then what They didn't even make it the entire season on the practice squad or even on the roster.

That we have to tone down our expectations for what we think we're seeing..

Especially at this position I don't know the who's gonna make it and who's not at all those guys that are fighting for that last one or two spots at OLB,

Steal from the offense to keep a sixth OLB Isaiah Land? Who has been in the league since 2023? It would make more sense to put him on the practice squad.
