How are we able to acquire Crosby with our current cap space? I believe he just redid his deal last year and has a base salary of 30 mil this year. I would love to see this move but don’t know how to make it work. It's not either/or. Miller cost virtually nothing. They could sign both.
The inside linebacker corps looks reasonable at the moment.
I think they are still working to acquire Brooks, Crosby, Sweat, or Thibodeaux. That may have to wait until the trade deadline.
I'm not sure they even know what they prefer right now.
Cap space is simple to manipulate. The Eagles and Rams do it all the time. How are we able to acquire Crosby with our current cap space? I believe he just redid his deal last year and has a base salary of 30 mil this year. I would love to see this move but don’t know how to make it work.
Thanks for responding but that’s generalized response. Like what levers can we pull to make it happen. I thought most of the big contracts for us have been restructured this offseason and I’m not sure further restructuring is possible. Convert a significant portion of Crosby’s salary to bonus (His salary is already guaranteed for this season)? I think we have like 13-14 mil left as of now after signing Miller.Cap space is simple to manipulate. The Eagles and Rams do it all the time.
It is apparently not simple for this front office.Cap space is simple to manipulate. The Eagles and Rams do it all the time.
There is only so much pie...It is apparently not simple for this front office.
From the “Book of Stephen”, chapter 1, verse 1.There is only so much pie...![]()
We’ve reworked pretty mug everyone but Bland and Ferg. By marrying both through 2029, past the time we should keep either, we could free up around $13m.We have tons of cap space if we rework current contracts. Jerry just has to WANT to do it.
Yeah, I don't think they are worried about ILB at the moment. They love Overshown. They got Winters, who started last year for the 49ers. And they like what they've seen from Barham. Considering we're only going to have two ILBs on the field at any given time, I think they want to let that play out. It's not either/or. Miller cost virtually nothing. They could sign both.

Those teams manage the salary cap by looking ahead three or four years. They have different challenges going forward as do the Cowboys. It’s not simply other teams do it so can Dallas. Jerry doesn’t understand a lot of things. Money isn’t one of them.Cap space is simple to manipulate. The Eagles and Rams do it all the time.
They could restructure Bland, moving most of his $12 million base. They could restructure Ferguson, moving most of his $7.25 million base. They would inherit Crosby's $30 million base, but could shift most of that to bonus and add a couple of void years, so even with what they have left right now they could afford him. I mean, if they converted $25 million to bonus and prorated that over five years, he'd cost $10 million this year. They would need to do the same next year, though. Thanks for responding but that’s generalized response. Like what levers can we pull to make it happen. Now my understanding of a direct trade with the Raiders would be that we would have to have the cap space to acquire his cap impact for this year prior to a restructure to his contract could happen (Unless the Raiders did it for us I assume). Under your scenario, would we have the space to acquire his contract before the restructure? They could restructure Bland, moving most of his $12 million base. Damn right about thatWe have tons of cap space if we rework current contracts. Jerry just has to WANT to do it.
Why do you think that? Those are pretty specific examples.I think they are still working to acquire Brooks, Crosby, Sweat, or Thibodeaux.
I’ve been saying it forever, the salary cap can always be manipulatedCap space is simple to manipulate. The Eagles and Rams do it all the time.
