The secret is out and it is not a mystery

All true Cowboys fans are wandering what the big difference is with in this football team as of late. After watching these first two preseason games it is obvious that this is a very well coached football team. These players know exactly where to line up you don't see the mistakes like last season. And a great sign of this is to simply look at the 2nd and 3rd team defenses have looked really good. I honestly can't remember the last time I have seen such good play from backups this team is well coached, period. Smarter decisions better players and very sound coaching is the difference right now. Please give your thoughts, thanks.
I think the staff that's been assembled will be pretty good, for the most part — I don't have a ton of faith in Sorensen as the ST coach due to his "less-than-stellar" (to put it kindly) track record and how the ST played last season. As for last season I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt for not having great talent to work with, but the fact that he and the head coach are longtime friends makes me wonder if he wouldn't have been fired if not for that.

Schottenheimer may not be the BEST man for the job but he's been around a long time and I think he's hungry to prove himself after being passed up for a HC job for so many years — add in the fact that he wants to show her can be as good, or better coach than his father.

My first choice for the DC job was Jim Leonhard, but Parker may end up being even better. His demeanor and prowess toward the job seems about as great as you could hope for and everyone who speaks about him talks like he is a wunderkind.

The OC, Klayton Adams, a former OL coach also seems inventive and open to using a wide open scheme, though Schottenheimer calls the plays.

So, overall, yeah, I'm optimistic.

Haha, as a lifelong follower of the Jets (blame my peewee football coach and best friends dad) I feel this, but I don’t recall five unbeaten preseasons. They’ve had a few and many times have looked great in the preseason only to absolutely suck when it counted.
I grew up 3 doors away from Jets TE Mickey Shuler. He would through football with us kids when he was around.
But that never made me a Jets fan.

I'm really looking less at the 2-0 record and more at how the team looks. Yes there are still penalties, but everything looks crisp and smooth. Especially compared to last preseason, and the sloppiness carried over.

Hopefully this team is developing some good habits this summer. Yes, in the end these games are inconsequential, but they can be useful for teams, regardless of the wins and losses.
This,
D - Basic things like tackling , assignment correction and right place is what I wanted to see and it seems that is happening, now the talent of our no1 vs other teams no 1 will decide how they play the real games.
O - improvement of backup QB perf , WRs in sync and RBs moving chains all good to see.

"Our 3s are better than your 3s."

Lol. And you know anyone starting off a post with "true Cowboy fans" is immediately full of bull feces.

As a "false" Cowboys fan I'm still in wait and see mode until I see a sample of real games against actual starters.

The Jets 5 unbeaten preseason years with discipline and poised 2nd and 3rd stringers wont fool me again
That’s right Shaboozy.

I’m interested to see how they fare against the NFC West, Texans, etc.

Cue The Who “Won’t get fooled Again”..

Sure, but don’t miss the bus. I’ll save you a seat. That’s the kind of guy I am.

I would start Barham in the middle and let Overshown play the other linebacker spot, then let Overshown take over for Barham in the middle on 3rd and long. I would have Barron as the other coverage linebacker in with Overshown some as well. On obvious passing downs at times.
I still can’t fully figure out the linebacker roles just yet, but I’ll get there….and I expect that Barham is going to force his way into getting many snaps. We know he has Jerry as a fan, so I’d expect him to be the beneficiary of Jerrys typical “I’d like to see more of…..” But I also expect him to earn it.

Obviously it’s a bit soon to go overboard with enthusiasm, but at least we finally appear to have a LB with some dawg in him. This team has needed guys like that in a desperate way forever.

I read the Cardinals did not play 34 players yesterday. So do not get too excited about preseason.
There is absolutely reason to get excited about the preseason. Anybody can see what's going on with the Cowboys and see there is something different / better going on right now that will translate to success this season. Gripe a moan all you want - must be a great life. But this team is going to be special. Can't freaking wait.

Although I'm still awaiting real games I'm on record as really liking the new additions but I also remember the 2011 Eagles "dream team" and how all those additions put the league on notice.... until they actually played the games

However if "true fans" want to be excited about things like the players hustling and actually putting forth effort, I back them 100% to express that.

I mean its every year
There is reason to be excited this year - but continue with the nonsense.
