The secret is out and it is not a mystery

More talent and cap dedicated to defense and better coaches,,, mystery solved.
Exactly, It feels like this organization is moving this football team in the right direction for a change. I am shocked about it to be honest with you, ol knucklehead Jerry seems to be behaving so far. This team is on the rise It appears.

I still can’t fully figure out the linebacker roles just yet, but I’ll get there….and I expect that Barham is going to force his way into getting many snaps. We know he has Jerry as a fan, so I’d expect him to be the beneficiary of Jerrys typical “I’d like to see more of…..” But I also expect him to earn it.

Obviously it’s a bit soon to go overboard with enthusiasm, but at least we finally appear to have a LB with some dawg in him. This team has needed guys like that in a desperate way forever.
I'm just tickled to see Dallas appear to be operating like an NFL team should be operated. This team has finally hired a defensive coordinator and coaching staff that are good at teaching the game to the players. I believe in this coaching staff, I think they will get some good play out of these players both the offensive and defensive staffs look good.

It's easy to take notice of the clear improvement in the Cowboys performance in their tougher contact, especially in the numbers if the players playing with intensity, hard tackling and general communication.

It results in gang tackling and seriously intelligent play. The coaching is surely deserving of credit for such fine results occurring during the present preseason games. Here's hoping the regular season displays much the same results when their time comes up to perform when it counts.

It's been a treat to see them handle themselves so capably so far in the preseason games. It's truly been a long time coming. Here's hoping it takes just as long or even longer to take a downward trend. I'm tempted to pinch myself while watching them lately, just to see if I'd wake up. It's that exciting! :)

Understandable. 30 years of frustration doesn’t go away overnight.

If this works? And all indications show that it is - I don’t think Jerry will try to screw it up.

Do you think the same coaches who have third and fourth string players this well prepared won’t have the starters prepared?

I’m not. You can check on that.

But I’m also not letting past failures ruin my enjoyment of what I’m seeing now. I’m not letting it make me jaded and miserable where I’m pessimistic about everything.
Nice post, exciting times may be coming back to Dallas, once again. Super Bowl number 6 is what we are striving for as a football team and as a fanbase. Fanatic since 1973 ,GO COWBOYS.

Very nice, very well said. You can tell that this coaching staff is cooking right now with all these players. These players seem excited to play for the coaches. They believe in the playback that's huge.

Shoddy could be fine as a Head Coach. Certainly has the pedigree.

If he has the horses and Jerry allows him to at least appear to have some sort of authority, it could work.

If it does, yet another thing they originally didn’t want to do but tripped over.

I have no dog in this ring, but Dolan is very much a "Jerry Jones-esque" owner for the Knicks.
In some ways he's worse than Jerry.

He's been known to revoke season tickets from high-profile fans, celebs, and former players who criticize the team.
He even surveils and tracks critics who have spoken out against him.

Is he the GM and a fundamental part of the teams workings? I doubt it.

I think we will when someday again also ............ That is why I am waiting for Jerry to be gone.

I am 40+ years younger than him ......... just bidding my time.
I am also of the belief that Dallas would be much better off without Ol Jerry in charge as well. But for some astonishing reason Ol Jerry has simmered down some of late and right now is actually acting like a normal person. I want to see The Dallas Cowboys win it all again that's all I really want to see. Can Dallas win it all despite Ol Jerry, here's hoping.

Yes they can win despite Jerry. He makes it tougher but as of late has actually made it better.

I think they can, it would seem that Brian Schottenheimer and the coaching staff, are phasing Ol Jerry out . Keeping this teams focus on nothing but football. Schottenheimer's culture change is happening, seems to be working as well.

All true Cowboys fans are wandering what the big difference is with in this football team as of late. After watching these first two preseason games it is obvious that this is a very well coached football team. These players know exactly where to line up you don't see the mistakes like last season. And a great sign of this is to simply look at the 2nd and 3rd team defenses have looked really good. I honestly can't remember the last time I have seen such good play from backups this team is well coached, period. Smarter decisions better players and very sound coaching is the difference right now. Please give your thoughts, thanks.
By your analysis I gather you see the D as adapting well to new schemes and alignments under Parker.
Learning the playbook this early is always a sign of good coaching.

Exactly as of late Jerry has made it better he has put in much more concentrated effort.

I am in full belief that Jerry can win another Super bowl pretty much whenever he decides to a lot the number of resources necessary because he certainly has all the resources.

He didn't make the team the most valuable in all of sports by being an idiot.
He just made that his priority rather than winning another Super bowl.
When he decides he wants another trophy in the cabinet he will do what's necessary to get it and it's not rocket science.

The effort he has put forth this season shows me that he may be changing his priorities and want another trophy

All true Cowboys fans aren't wondering anything they already know what the difference in the team is.

Jerry is the difference he has decided to change his priorities a little bit and being the most valuable team in sports is not
quite enough and he wants another Super bowl trophy.

It's really very simple it's much easier to get a Super bowl than it is to make the team the most valuable in sports

Jerry is not an idiot he just set his sights much higher than any of us could ever fathom.

That said it is evident with the effort that has been made that he has decided to use his resources to build the team in the right way and try to put another trophy in his cabinet

it might be a couple year project but it's going to happen as long as he makes it his priority and wants it.

Jerry's a multi-billionaire he gets whatever he wants we fans have just wanted a Super bowl a lot more than he has for the last 30 years.
Believe me with the money he has and the resources if he wants to make it happen it will

To those that are powered by negativity, and I’m not knocking that, try to understand that most aren’t excited because we are 2-0.

Rather, we’re excited because the team seems to be well prepared and playing well opposed to preseasons of the past.

And that’s what the op said and at least 40 people are seeing the same thing. It’s also ok to be positive about our team.

All true brother very pleasant to watch football where your backup players look prepared and able to step in if someone goes down and they're not be a tremendous drop off.

Also nice to see the coaching staff appear confident prepared and able to relate to the players and get them playing at a high level
