I agree on all of those except maybe Hooker. Even though Hooker's far from great, I'd like to see Downs prove himself first before we move on. I think Thompson, Hooker and Downs are probably our top three safeties. Maybe if he hadn't had the injury, Locke would be up there as well. I like Bell, but for a specific role and I'm not sold on Wood or Clark as anything more than depth.I’d be shopping several of the final year guys. They’re not good enough to where the team was going to pay them next year anyway.
See if you can get anything for:
I think we have depth at all of their positions.
- Schoonmaker
- Mingo
- Sam Williams
- Hooker
All of themIf the Cowboys only keep 5 WRs, and 3 TEs and 3 RBs who stays and who goes. I think Michael Triggs is the #1 keeper and the most likely to be picked off waivers as TE is a huge need on teams. Cameron Brown may also not clear waivers but the Cowboys have more depth at WR than TE... I think Mafah is gone either way and Israel "Izzy" Abanikanda can easily be stashed on the practice squad.
Keep - Michael Triggs
Cut - Cameron Bronwn
Cut - Phil Mafah
I’d give the job to Locke and not think twice about it. I think he’s more comfortable and familiar with Parker’s scheme anyway.I agree on all of those except maybe Hooker. I suspect that he gets cut and brought back and is on the roster at some point.Might be just me but I really like Mafah I want him on this team.
Absolutely right. Can't make decisions based on what COULD be when you only get 53 spots. That's also a good point but the counterpoint is the Cowboys can't build their roster off of potential they literally have to build it by whatever helps them win the most and keeps the most depth this year II know it's weird but that's just the way it is they spent too many resources on trying to get the defense better they can't go too deep at wide receiver when they don't need it I think they're going to need to use those resources on maybe a tackle maybe another corner I mean they're going to have to go long in the places that they are the most exposed and those two are the most exposed they're gonna need more bodies and more room just in case..
Look I get it II seen what you saw but but that doesn't mean that he should be kept over mingo we should try to get him to the practice squad..
That does suck when we lose a player with all that potential we traded away the corner named Ward before we saw what he had but it happens sometimes other teams do it too I mean how you think we got George Pickens for a 3rd round pick...
These are all valid points and we'll see what the coaches feel..
I just don't know where he is in his recovery from a very serious surgery. He did not do that much for Denver last year coming off it, which is why he was available for a relatively cheap, one-year deal.I’d give the job to Locke and not think twice about it. I think he’s more comfortable and familiar with Parker’s scheme anyway.
Just my opinion.
I hear ya. That’s a valid concern, but I haven’t seen where it’s been any issue so far.I just don't know where he is in his recovery from a very serious surgery. He did not do that much for Denver last year coming off it, which is why he was available for a relatively cheap, one-year deal.
Just haven't seen enough of him to know, just like with Downs. Some promising signs in practices, but I'd like to see more before we move on from certain players.I hear ya. That’s a valid concern, but I haven’t seen where it’s been any issue so far.

By the same token, I’ve seen enough of Hooker to know that the team wouldn’t miss him if he were gone.Just haven't seen enough of him to know, just like with Downs. Some promising signs in practices, but I'd like to see more before we move on from certain players.
