This is why all the people who seem to think that 20 or 30 preseason reps is somehow gonna make our quarterback better a veteran quarterback with all that experience no Prescott and Romo shouldn't play in any preseason games not snap it is not helping game one or Game 4 that they play a few measly snaps in the preseason they get plenty of reps and I mean a lot of reps in the offseason more so than the what they'll throw in 17 games total that's how many reps they are throwing in the offseason between the stuff they do on the side and all the mini camps and Otas which Prescott goes to all of them he's make sure he shows up no matter his contract issues or not he gets plenty of reps..


We've already seen it from other teams players going down in preseason games there's no reason to risk your veteran quarterbacks to any preseason snaps 'cause I don't see the upside I don't see it at all..

It's because there's no upside to it at all if anybody thinks that somehow you're gonna roll into the first quarter of the first game and that's 20 reps in preseason against backups not with your whole starting team somehow is gonna make you better no it's not Most teams are not in game shape and mentally and physically in a flow until like Game 3 anyway no matter what you do in preseason this is not your dad's football or your granddad's football there's no need for these guys who get so many reps in Otas mini camps they meet each other in certain areas to work out they have trainers they have diets I mean it's zero upside to playing your starters outside of some rookies or guys who just joined your team as veterans that need a little work with hearing the huddle stuff on offense and defense and getting lined up right those guys need to play but other than that no there's no upside to it at all....

What was and still is an abnormality was the presence of the just benched starting franchise quarterback on the same roster as the rookie quarterback for the playoff bound team. That particular circumstance was far rarer by comparison.

I'm trying to remember if those guys had a zeke to hand it off to...often. A huge O-line (never the same since Travis left!) and super stud RB takes a lot of pressure off.

Wrong, the "10 years" was in reference to Prescott.

2016 had the same o-line. same receivers and same defense as the 2015 team. 2016 had a significant upgrade at RB. Not to mention Bryant suffered a Jones fracture in game 1, missed 5 games and played hurt the rest of the 2015 season.

The 2016 team was clearly a better team than the 2015 team and better than the 2014 team that won 12 games. The 2016 team had 5 all pros, Elliot lead the league in rushing and was awarded rookie of the year by the PFWA.
