10 years ago today Romo suffered a back injury in the preseason, paving the way for Dak

I'm certainly not proclaiming him a finished product, but I 100% believe he's done everything you could ask for in practice & preseason games
This is pretty much what Schotty said........he's finally learning and understanding QBing is way more than a strong arm.

Translate.......he's starting to take the position seriously with more study and work ethic.

Since we are talking about 3+ decades of refusing to draft a QB in the first round, I don't think you're argument holds up. And it's the most important position on the field.

My point you missed is drafting where the Cowboys normally draft mid round the top 2 or 3 QB’s are gone . Perhaps round 2-3 holds a QB worth taking .

Howell has played in real game games in the NFL and played well. Milton has been good for two weeks in preseason games.

Milton to this point has won the back up job if you want to admit it or not . Howell was 6-23 as a starter in Wash .

As opposed to Jaylon and Kelvin Joseph? It’s a gamble but QB is the most important position. Dallas likes to take risks in the 2nd round, just get a QB there every so often.
They’ve been foolish in how they’ve handled the 2nd round.
For someone who always seemed to have eyes in the back of his head, it sucks that his career was ended by someone he didn't see coming.
Yeah I suspect maybe he thought it would be less physical than it was? I don’t remember preseason where coaches blitzing like that.

Brian S. mentioned a few days ago. It is still close as to QB #2. Howell was slightly ahead of Milton until that 2nd PS game. But he did not say if that moves Milton ahead of Howell.

But of course this all can be coach speak, he is not going to tip his hand and announce it yet.

worst thing that could have happened that year. that should have been Romo's 2011 Dirk like season. Still could have been but the idiots in charge thought Dak could do something no other rookie QB had ever done. 10 years later and they have two playoff victories to show for it.

I mean pick your poison….do something that has never been done and win with a rookie or do something that had ever been done and win with Romo. Both results were going to be the same. At the end of the day you lost because Aaron Rodgers made a crazy throw to Jared Cook.

This is pretty spot on. No rookie had ever done it, true. Well, Romo hadn't done it in all his years either. And we were supposed to go toe to toe with Atlanta the next week with our defense just getting shredded? Sure.

That was Tony
even if it was a preseason Game he went all out
just the way he was
I think it was just a matter of time before Romo got injured, his body was starting to break down. Whether it was then or by mid-season I don't think he holds up. Such a strange injury though, I remember him coming out during the press conference saying he was fine and it was nice to know he could take a hit.
Romo had the uncanny ability to get hit and sacked in the weirdest positions.
One of the dumbest moves this team ever did was not give him back his starting job when he was 100% healthy and cleared to play.

I give Dak a LOT of credit for playing well enough to give Romo time to fully heal. So I DO think he sjhould have came back in at the end of the year and take HIS team into the platoffs.

A "problem" Tony had was playing hurt...or coming back too soon. Pretty much kept him perpetually hurt or disadvantaged.

Another is his will to take big hits...and the refs helped him out on many occassions.
