Romo just played all out all the time. It's a shame that his body was failing him by the time the game slowed down and reading defenses came second nature to him.

Still will say to this day the job should have been given back to Romo. As well as Dak played as a rookie it was probably our last and best year to reach the super bowl with Romo. That's if he stayed healthy....BIG IF.

Just depends how you feel about Romo. If the veteran was Brady or Rodgers or Brees I’d agree. After 2006, 2007 and 14…..either we were gonna fail or Romo body was gonna fail him.

As I said, the possibility of winning with Romo, after he was medically cleared to return to the starting lineup, may have been a near impossibility. He was the only veteran starting quarterback on the team, so that near zero possibility lived and died with him.

There would have likely been three failures for the team's Super Bowl hopes in 2016. One was established as fact. The other two were:

1. Romo playing and the team exiting the postseason exactly like it had always done previously with him as the starting quarterback or
2. Romo playing, then suffering another injury that would have benched him again, Dak Prescott re-entering the starting lineup, and the team losing in either the divisional round or NFC Championship game.

When you’re usually drafting 15 and on down round one the Mendoza Caleb Williams types are gone . You might find a gem possibly round 2 though .

That’s kind of what I was getting at. It’s not like they passed up guys or can’t miss guys. They for the most part are picking in the teens and 20s. Hard to fall in love with a QB in that area.
