NFL eliminating the Pro Bowl

Okay.

The league makes the big announcement.

They discussed the decision at length.

No more Pro Bowl.

Great.

Players will still get honors.

Alright.

What the <bleep> will they call the honor now? Will players still be named to the Pro Bowl WHEN THERE IS NO MORE PRO BOWL?

Finally. Whew!

Still difficult to believe they gave a dollar back though.

Also kinda unfair to players with Pro Bowl incentives in their contracts.
Well that's why they didn't get rid of it I'm assuming. There's still Pro Bowl voting but now they don't get the pleasure of making a Pro Bowl because of guys getting hurt or guys turning it down or going to the SB. PB voting is going to be much more legit.

I think it's a temporary thing because of some guys getting incentives based on Pro Bowl voting. Couldn't flat out eliminate it.

I think the players voted to the Pro Bowl should be put in madden on the respective teams and then allow the 2 best Madden players to play it out. Or have AI do a simulation.

I like idea of no game, less wear and tear on the players and less chance of injury

Just like before, All Pro was all that really mattered. Particularly recently.

Why has there not been some additional news of what the award will someday be called IF keeping the contractual information in line with the honor was a planned temporary thing?
