For the 2027 draft. We have a 1, 2, 3, 6, 6 round picks.

One of our first goes to the Jets, the higher pick, ours or GB's. Leaves us with 1 - 1st round pick.
4th goes to GB for Gary
5th goes to Pittsburgh for Pickens
we get Pittsburgh's 6th for Pickens
our 7th goes to Philly for the trade in 20206, with M. Lawrence.

I want them to get more picks.

Who on the team is tradable that can get some picks. It seems we have some depth at some positions. But are any truly tradable. or just hype.

Would like somehow to get a 4th and a 5th.

I still think they can get something for Schoonmaker. a 6th, but if a team needs a TE, maybe a 5th. If a teams starter goes down, can the get lucky and get a 4th.

How about one of the RB's, but don't think we can.

Maybe an OLB, such as Sam Williams. Could he get. 5th round pick.
Howell or Milton?
one of the WR's, Mingo, Brown or even Turpin.

some others on defense, can we gat a 6th or 7th.
Bell, Carson, Clark, Wood

Maybe even Toia on the DL but doubt it.

at LB, as I mentioned Williams, but hoe about Barron or James or Liafau. Maybe Land or Wheat, but doubt that as well.

Or they can offer a package del.

There is basically nobody on the roster who is "expendable" that could get you a 4th-round pick. The fringe roster guys you mention have no trade value.

Bass is probably your best option for a mid-round pick, but I wouldn't do that. You could get a late-round pick for Howell at some point during the season if some injuries stack up.

Regardless of their specific trade value, I also don't really agree with the notion of trading depth (i.e. Barron or Wood) for the ability to just draft depth next year. It doesn't really accomplish much.

Yes some could get a late round draft pick.
I was just throwing names out there as a possibility.
I believe nothing will happen though. It never does. Some fans tend to overrate players for trade value. Then nothing happens.
Just as some think certain players will get poached from waivers. Only to find them back onDallas' PS team.

The best bet is if another teams gets some injuries. I can see them giving a little higher pick, as not to lose them to another team on waivers.
As I said, Schoonmaker, maybe Williams are in that category. Normally a 6th, but could be higher if an injury occurs.

no chance we get any comp picks this year so i would happy get another 7th round pick or 2 at this point.

Yes, we will not get any comp picks.
So if we can pick up a few late round picks somehow, it will be good.

Remedy your lack of draft picks through free agency. Sign some top tier talent instead of dumpster diving.

If they go deep in the playoffs this year. They could very well do that.
See what they need. Keep most of what they have. Get that top FA difference maker for once.

Can someone explain why Dallas wouldn't get any comp picks this year? I was under the impression that if certain players leave our roster to join another team, depending on production would allot Dallas a comp pick?

The free agents we signed got much bigger contracts then the players we lost in free agency so that automatically cancels out any comp pic. Also it took like a month for cowboy players to start getting picked up in free agency and most of them signed for minimum level deals.

The NFL usually only gives out 32 comp picks every year. If the players you're losing don't make a lot on their new contracts they don't qualify for the comp pick formula. It's basically the top 32 highest salaries that get the picks. Also, if you add a FA that can affect the formula. Dallas added a few contracts of substance this off-season. Those usually cancel out a comp pick that you would have received for losing a player. Dallas doesn't usually sign any outside Free Agents that cost anything. This is why Dallas has gotten multiple picks over the past few years. They lose more than they add and are compensated for losing the player. The more expensive the contract they lose the better the comp pick. Bass will probably leave in the off-season and get a quality contract 8-10m/yr, he should net a comp pick in 2028. Probably a 5th but it's possible to get a 4th depending on how the rest of FA goes. I doubt Dallas will be big spenders this off-season besides resigning their own guys. Resigning your own players doesn't count against the formula.

If GP has a monster season, you could get at least a 1 for him.

I mean at 6’8” Kuntz seems like a possible 3rd TE target or PS at the very least at some point Trigg heals hopefully he sees action against the Saints . You could put Schoonmacher on the market doubt if he gets much of anything .

I can’t see vets Bell or Howell getting anything in return . Liufau maybe if a team is thin on ST they may give you a 6 .

The most marketable players at a position of some depth you can afford to trade is Mingo or Turpin I would insist on at least a 4 for either for it to be worth it .

No one is going to trade decent mid round picks for our leftover garbage that we don’t want.

It’s not going to happen. When is the last time that Jerry pulled off a trade like that?

Well instead of “ gaining “ picks Dallas traded two got one back the net effect is moving down to the 4th round no 3 no 6 . Hopefully Jones takes the RT job and stays healthy as a one year rental .
