If Howell gets claimed off waivers he will have to go on another team's 53. That's a significant pay raise from being on the PS so he'd be silly to agree to stay here in that scenario.

Shiyazh Pete actually played pretty good for a UDFA rookie at a position (Right Guard) he never had played before. I'm surprised he was one of the first cuts. Makes me wonder what the Cowboys coaches were looking at since various preseason game tapes show Pete making some good plays out on the game field, certainly more than some of the backups the Cowboys are surely to keep on the 53.
