I am still trying to make sense of this.
Easy peasy.

Both are strictly backup types. Both are athletic w/ good arms. Howell has starting experience and has been better at learning the playbook and going through progressions.

It's actually really easy when you focus on facts and ignore hysteria and hoopla.

Looks like the Cowboys went with the "Win now" approach over potential upside

"It was the decision that was made begrudgingly and painstakingly by the Cowboys. They liked the progress and development Milton has made over the last year and were excited about his performance during the preseason.

Howell, however, has been more consistent since the start of offseason and training camp. He doesn't have Milton's upside in terms of athleticism and arm talent but he is guy they trust more to win games if something happened to Prescott."

On bringing in Howell, Shotty said, "I think it probably got his attention, but to be fair to Joe, this is not the easiest system to learn. We ask a lot of our players, certainly the quarterback position. We are a volume type offense… He's in a much different place right now, talking about Joe, in terms of his understanding of what we do."

Sounds like he's physically talented only.
So Howell has The Minds Of a Tom Brady? Got It Shotty... :muttley: :lmao2:

Funny, but Howell prolly has more upside. Yes, Milton has a cannon and is athletic, but so is Howell. And Howell is a better overall passer than Milton.

Where do people come up with this?

What quantifiable data suggest that Milton has more athleticism?

Joe has never out rushed Sam at any level.

Their trials are intriguing.all of them rats lol.
Lol lol lol they need to be in Green Bay, plenty of CHEESE there lol

Yeah, that that that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jeebus so you know you they are too???

Hey, Cooglepuff, we got a new name for you!!!!!!
Not WE, it's you, you're the only one that's qualified!! You've earned your rights over the years Bud!

The names they have for me let's just say they can't say them without being punished lol

I don’t understand why they couldn’t do both. Play for this year AND develop Milton for the future.

And then the real question. Is this decision even all that relevant? It's not like we have 2 game changers on our hand.
It’s relevant because we are not trying to develop a QB in the same way Green Bay does or other teams do.

silly, there were other fringe players they could have cut if they thought he had long term potential - you dont cut a potential future starting qb to keep a 6th WR or 7 CB....i dont buy it
