I am ok with Sam Howell

Sam Howell is a very underrated player imo. I really think he could be a lower end starter in this league.

I've mentioned this before. One year howell was the league leading passer after about 6 weeks. So he has it in him. Yet people are stressing about our 3rd string qb getting cut.

I am ok with either of them as the back up. Of course we now know that will be Howell.

I think Howell showed a bit more poise. He did have a few picks. Milton did not look so good in his half the last game.
Milton of course more mobile. I think a few sacks on Howell, Milton would have escaped one of those.

I hope they can get Milton back on the PS.

In a battle, sam may have something like 2-3 int, but will also have 4-5 TD in the same game. Milton wont give you that. Sam has some of that vintage Kirk Cousins dawg in him. I like the move.

When sams back is against the wall he will put on the boxing gloves. He felt that way against Milton after the first 2 preseason games, and we seen what he did in the 3rd game (had some not so good plays, but he was letting that arm go to battle back into the game).

I am betting the cowboys wanted to see how Sam would perform under pressure, and they got their answer, not to mention he has shown that in real game action on other teams.

When it comes down to it, I want a QB that isnt afraid to put the ball in the air. Milton isnt safe, nor is he a chance taker.

Oh I agree. I know many don't like him or don't think he is the answer. However, I think even Dak knows that if he wins or goes to a Conference championship or heaven forbid wins a Super Bowl the whole negative mantra drops and ESPN and the likes have to put him in there top 5 next year. He falters well he is just another Romo or Danny White. I've always liked him as a man. I am sure he knows what be the best way would be to end his legacy.

While Milton is the more gifted raw athlete, Howell is honestly better at almost every actual aspect of playing quarterback. I was surprised by his command of the offense, and I didn't realize he had that kind of mobility (he actually logged more rushing yards in his last 12 college games than Milton did in his entire 40-game collegiate career). While it's fun to watch Milton throw 80 yards downfield, Howell can step in right now, distribute the ball efficiently, and minimize turnovers. In the words of Mike Zimmer: "We see them every day in practice." I trust the coaching staff here. Hopefully Joe makes it to our practice squad; if not, we'll bring in another practice squad QB, and I wish him the best moving forward.

I'm ok with it too. Howell was always going to end up the QB 2 IMO,....just a much more rounded player than Milton ever was. Most of Howells work as a pro has come from him playing against first string NFL defenses in meaningful games while being on a poor team. Milton has none of that. The only thing that would have been nice when Joe was here as QB 2 last season would have been to take a page out of the Eagles playbook and bring him in on short yardage to do the tush push,....other than that,...I wish him the best of luck and hope he finds success.

There's only 2 reasons that people think Sam isn't a mental midget qb that is a Turnover magnet. One reason is they only watch Cowboy games. I won't get into the other reason due to site rules.
