exactly. Trade conversations can be much different than trade interest. The conversations coulda been....

Cowboys: called to talk about Joe Milton
other team: thanks but no thanks. not interested, bye.
Agreed. Because those teams knew they could get a similar QB on the waiver wire without having to give up anything in a trade.

I am not saying Milton is horrible and I do hope he returns to the PS. Just saying we as fans might be overrating him just a bit.

Knowing how to play is leading the league in interceptions and sacks taken? Interesting
Didn't he also lead the league in yards passing? He played well against Dallas.

And he was on a horrible team.

I think he makes for an exceptional backup. He could run the offense just fine if Dak has to miss a few weeks. You can see that.

Bwahahahaaha…and 3 weeks ago he was supposed to be the starting QB in waiting
It's funny until you realize you need one.

Rolling with an aging, injury--prone QB with no viable replacement on the roster could get downright hilarious.

As predicted. You people don't care about facts just your little kiddie imagination.

The imagination is thinking Joe Milton is something he's not.

The fact is the Cowboys waived him. And they are the second team to get him off their roster. And in a few hours he will probably be back on the practice squad anyway.

Address what I said about Howell then we'll get to Milton. You have some things you need to clear up amd addesss

I'm willing to address anything about Milton. Unlike you people I don't duck and dodge

1600 HRS Eastern Time today we'll know the amount of interest in Joseph Jay Milton III.

Any kind of "long game" makes no sense for Mr. Jones.

Jerry is one step ahead of the Grim Reaper. Signs abound that he is deferring to bona fide football guys to build a roster and compete NOW.
No chance that Jerry is deferring. He only stays GM because he doesn't want to prove the fans correct that he is the worst ever at his job, and isn't a "football guy". If he defers then he doesn't get the credit for building the team. And if he was prepared to defer then he would simply retire and hire a real GM if he truly wanted to win NOW.

Yeah had to be more to the story

I mean NE didn’t want him either. Maybe he isn’t a good teammate I dunno
It could just mean he asked for his release, believing he should be the No. 2 QB over Howell and wanting that opportunity to be the primary backup. We didn't hear anything about Milton focusing on the wrong things until Dallas decided to keep three quarterbacks. I think he knew he was going to be the emergency QB and wanted an opportunity to be more than that.

That's just my guess, though, since this move seems strange based on what was being said by the team before the cuts, specifically that Milton and Howell were neck and neck and would keep competing with each other.

Oh, I see that Archer reported he did not ask for his release, so I guess I am wrong about that.

Schotty : Hey Joe, you’re looking much improved. Let’s get a little more touch on these passes

Milton : Joe don’t throw short. Joe don’t throw soft. Bazooka Joe throw the ball 70 yards
The fact everyone was heaping praise on Milton for showing touch on his TD pass to Mingo at Arizona says it all.

"Milton did what an NFL QB should do! He didn't throw the ball 15 yards over Mingo's head out of bounds!! He's our savior now!!"

The 6.5 yards per carry guy.
Troy Hambrick averaged 4.7 and 5.1 yards per carry his first two seasons. Limited carries generally produce better numbers. I like the Demearcado pickup, but I'd be careful about touting the numbers of a back whose only had 126 carries. Numbers can be skewed.
