Actually more concern about the offense!

No reason to worry about the offense. At the end of the day if Dak is healthy we know its top 10. Or should be. Bad tackles and all. Now this whole "Greatest OF ALL TIME" or whatever they're saying that might be in jeopardy.

BUt I mean even look at what you're saying. Your concern is slow starts and depth. On defense we don't even know what we have in starters. We are probably comfortable at DT But every other position is scary.
Defense is an unknown at this moment, but we have seen the offensive weaknesses. There were games where the offense was held in check which is concerning.

You just described Witten and people want to put him in the HOF.
Like I said. Ferguson is effective. He’s going to make a lot of tough gritty catches and be where he needs to be. 5-8 yarders. Dangerous enough around the red zone.

Kind of crazy, with the defense being historically bad last season, I am actually worried more about the offense:

-Tackle position scares me to death. I do like the addition of Jones, but the position can potentially wreck the season
-Slow starts. They cannot take a quarter off to get it going. Cannot be shut out in a half.
-Inability to finish drives. Lack of execution, penalties, turnover, drops, play calling.
-Have to become more aggressive in going for it on 4th downs, settle too much for long FG's.
-Need more production in the passing game from the TE position. Ferguson has to start connecting with the seam routes.
-depth at running back, Williams wore down in the 2nd half of last season, don't trust our depth behind him
-Have to be more competitive against the elite teams
Offense was good enough to get us to the playoffs last year with a decent defense. That offense is pretty much intact, so I don't see a reason to believe that is changed.

Now, some of the concerns might prevent us from going any further if we make the playoffs. But some are almost acting like it was the offense holding us back last year, when it was 100 percent the defense. Was the offense not good enough in some games? But sometimes teams have to rely on the other side of the ball when facing other teams with a strong defense.

Im not worried about the offense. All units within the offense will work as a team to get the job done.

CP, Caleb Downs, and the communication aspect is also the reason I dont worry about the defense.

I am waiting to see them beat a quality team on the road

Never said the offense held us back last season, but rather there are areas they need to improve upon.

the OT issues are gonna be the death of this offense - aside from a unimaginable Dak big injury.

- Don't trust Guyton or Steele, and the backup comes down to Broderick Jones - and is it in stone that he is a RT only, or can he effectively
served as LT if he is forced to ?

- Rookie Drew Shelton is AWful, i'm fearing this may be a wasted pick. So who else do we have that could be helpful ?

- Will it get to a point to where we could be forced to swith Tyler Smith outside to LT, in a break glass dire emergency ?
Bass was getting a ton of first team reps, which could suggest Tyler Smith is their backup left tackle. If and a big if Guyton stays healthy and productive they can scheme up ways to help the right side. They were able to help Free several years ago who is similar to Steele.

the only knock on Tyler being forced to play LT in an emergency crisis pinch, is we haven't ben giving him Any reps at all at that role spot in camp.
So he is very likely to be way out of synch and very rusty, that could take some serious time before he even becomes the least accommated to his former LT position again.

Wouldnt you expect Pickens to be even more comfortable in year 2 with Dak? Wouldnt you expect Guyton and Beebe, entering year 3, to be better? Wouldnt you expect Booker to be better in season2? There is no way that Flournoy isnt entering this season with more confidence and more ability to be a positive impact on this team than last year? Same with Spann-Ford.

I just dont know how you could possibly be worried about the offense. If Dak goes down.... all bets are off. As is the same with basically every team in the NFL.
Lol you act like NFL coaches aren't paid as well to come up with plans to stop NFL offenses. Maybe last year was the unknown and they have had time now to put together plans to maybe double Pickens and force Lamb and flo to take over. We have to think outside the box a little on things. I hope we light the league up, but in the back of my mind I could see things being a little different

If we were as deadly of an offense as some say....shouldn't be a problem. You march the ball right down their throat.

I mean...come on, right? A "top five offense"...but only when it's easy?

The FACT is both (all three) aspects of the game determine things. If the offense is really good, they're in the best position to do something about it. Offense is for OFFENSIVE. Defense is for on the defensive. Your suppose to have more control of the game being on the offensive.

If your so-called potent offense averages 7-10 pts in the first half...somethign is wrong.
This is dumb

Lots of film on prime mahomes and kelcie. Those high paid coaches were awesome in stopping those guys.

Now Brock Hoffman did fill in quite a bit in the OL and should have earned another contract . But the OL right now was a big part of last years # 2 offense . Flournoy has a productive year under his belt . Williams still the RB you got Cee Dee Pickens Dak . This offense should not settle for Aubrey 50 yarders I expect it to function . The D is much more of a question .

I agree with that, but if you have more concern about the offense than the defense, I think your concern is misplaced. Is the offense good enough to win a Super Bowl? I don't know. Teams have won with worse, but those teams had much better defenses.

you forgot the most important part- Dak and the Offense were dismal in the red zone.our Defense was so horrific that we forgot how our Offense got the yips in the red zone.
And still averaged 30 points a game.

It’s always easy against an easy team yes
That’s why you need a great defense when you play better teams

There’s something wrong thing, as you play a top seven or eight team
That’s why you win in three aspects, offense, defense, special teams

You make it sound like somebody doesn’t understand the entire aspect, I don’t have time to explain to everybody exactly how it’s supposed to work, I respond to the thread

How many times have we seen this offense in a big game on the road truly compete, outside the division? Fully understand it is a team game and they were playing with one arm behind their backs with such a poor defense, but they just haven’t been competitive in those games.

Offenses get held in check. It happens. Defense was bad all year.
As I said in another response, when was the last time this offense had a great performance on the road against a quality opponent outside the division? This isn’t just about last season even when the defense was better
