Good observation we always wonder about that how they say they claim that they don't support Jerry Jones anymore and yet this is supporting Jerry Jones This is supporting the team this is extra this is nothing that normal fans that aren't casual do we go out of our way to spend extra time talking about our teams if you were checked out yeah you'd be quiet disappeared And you don't let us know when you're leaving you just leave..

Not me. It's just a game, sure I wanna win and compete, but at the end of the day.....it's a game, meant to have fun. If you aren't having fun, I can see why some check out, but a couple of wins and they're back.
Eberflus is not a bad coach, he had bad talent and bad leadership. He knew his place, he could have whined and cried to the media, but he's been around, he knows how it works

I agree with you on the bold. But too many CZ members couldn't see the forest for the trees being in the way to realize that simple thing. They were hell-bent on burning him at the stake

Well it does bother me I'm not numb I mean losses to any team at any moment I don't even care if the seasons over the losses bother me I don't want to hear the word tank and all that but I get over them way faster super fast used to linger all the way into the next game and now I just come to grips with it's OK to lose and there's always hope..lol

The title says it all. In all my years as a fan, I've never seen a hire as bad as Eberflus. And everything that happened because they refused to fire him until it was too late just kinda made me lost interest. I didn't choose to be unenthused; the vibe from last year just makes me very skeptical about this year even tho BeeberFluff is no longer in Dallas.

Something about last season still has me mostly checked out as a fan.

..I hear ya, man. but look at it this way.

Jerry did a non-comformist hire, went against HIS usual grain with Parker as DC.

It started with Parsons trade, then it led to this, defense is 70% revamped.

"Fortune favors the bold" ..as the idiom says. I dont know what will look like.

But post season will have spot for us.

So he's pulled back on things. Reserved. Not completely disengaged but cautiously hopeful.

Seems many others feel the same way. Nobody's walking....just want to see what this team will do instead of imagining success.

UMM, just wow… I think that's a bit of an exaggeration. I mean, we need to see how it all works out. There have been some solid rebuilding years under Parcells, with great drafts and standout players; Hall of Famers, All-Pros, and Pro Bowlers have all passed through here. We've had several seasons that felt promising, which is why people are feeling optimistic now. This momentum didn’t just start this offseason; it began last year with moves like trading Parsons for value and mid-season additions like Quinn. Williams.

Yes, the bigger purge happened this year, but there have been seasons with similar highs and lows. I’m just a bit more inspired because I’ve been watching since last offseason, hoping the changes would pay off. So far, there’s been steady progress, and maybe more moves could come by the trade deadline.

While it’s encouraging to see these efforts from the front office, comparing it to teams like the Rams, who have done even more,

Curious….the GB debacle and the subsequent doing nothing and throwaway season was fine, but Eberflus’ garbage defense due largely to garbage players sent you over the edge?

I could never “check out” fully, I’m too far gone, but the scenario above was what got me as close as I’m going get.

This off-season got me past it for the most part, plus I’m just sick of disliking football due to hating Jerry. Everyone is different. The boiling point is interesting

Every season begins anew hope rises to the top and as bad as last season was it got better this season. Renew the old smokey bones for one more campaign.

That's how I'm able to just stay more steady less emotional less highs and lows and just more in the middle because I've come to grips with sports is a one year one off week to week affair and you've got to put it behind you when the new year starts.

I get people's frustration but I also have bigger perspective i've seen longer droughts all over football I've seen way longer droughts in other sports and I know the other 3 DFW teams that I follow not as hardcore but the Stars and Rangers and Mavericks I hate to break it to you but those teams have only three championships between them one each for their entire existence so sometimes when I hear these narratives about the drought it's 30 something years well you know what It is frustrating but at the same time it's not unheard of it's actually pretty normal.

If championship seasons even making it to the championship games or the actual Super Bowl or whatever it's called in that in the other leagues If it was that easy everyone would be doing it and and the Cowboys would have been left in the dust by all these other teams and they haven't the top heavy club the Dallas Cowboys belong to with two dynasties and five Super Bowls and counting is still very special to be part of because it is they are not gapping us..

I think this is a healthy relationship with a sports team.

Something merely put in proper perspective and by proper i refer to giving to something as much as is being given to you.

The biggest imploders are the ones investing too much time, money and feelings for a sports team.....unrequited love is a real mutha.

There was a lot of leftover players from the last four or five years still on Zimmer's team and Eber flew his team and it wasn't just garbage players by design there was a massive historic amount of injuries the last two years to the defense and they felt it bringing over desperation players and other people's practice squad players so yes some of it is to do with Matt but Matt not being fired mid season I understand nothing was gonna change so why do it make him be part of the criticism make him wallow in it I would make him Coach to the end of the year as well and have to hear all the backlash he would have been paid to get out of town and I think that would have been letting him off the hook..

Yes there was a problem with coaching and a problem with the system and the players but remember it wasn't just Jerry not giving these guys enough there was an historic amount of injuries and if you'd like me to go count them all up from the last two years I can do it for you I mean I could I could find out comparative to other teams and how they've reacted because I seen when San Francisco two years ago I believe had a rash of injuries on defense they weren't good either..

Injuries matter and we had a historic amount of injuries coupled with bad coaching and a bad scheme that nothing fit the roster it was time for a big purge and now it's arrived..

Although I'm not one of them, I can see why people feel like you do. But get ready....because if this team jumps out to a 3-0 start you will be sucked right back in bro. It's just the way it is. Human nature.

Matt Eberflus is no longer part of the equation, but the person responsible for hiring and firing him remains. The same person is responsible for finally attempting to fix the problem with Christian Parker.

A new season is just over the horizon. Actual games will likely reinvigorate you. Just understand that Eberflus may not be the real source of your current skepticism, depending on how this season plays out.

Yes, that makes sense, but he was also part of the problem. We saw that he didn’t put in enough effort to adapt even with a roster hampered by injuries. While there were reasonable excuses for the last two years under Zimmer and Eberflus, at least Zimmer tried to make adjustments as players returned and the team showed some improvement toward the end of the season.

Matt, on the other hand, refused to experiment with his scheme or try anything unconventional, even when losing by large margins. Sometimes, when things are going badly, you need to take risks and shake things up to give the fans something to rally behind.

It’s also unfair to place all the blame on Jerry.

The team faced a historically high number of injuries, particularly on defense, making it nearly impossible to fill every gap. Out of desperation, the front office often had to piece together whatever players were available, resulting in a patchwork roster that struggled to perform.

Combined with leftover players from previous regimes and persistent injuries, it all snowballed into a chaotic situation that was difficult to manage.

AKA the dumpster fire.. Well they got some new dumpsters that are freshly painted and have some very nice font on it so hopefully it works out....

Yes you try to tune out all the other noise but the season's so short you should be able to appreciate it but the offseason so long that the noise is so overwhelming it's hard to not notice...

But yes football season officially begins for me today my college football team plays, And then next week it's all NFL almost all week so finally finally maybe we can start looking forward..

The franchise was turned around completely with the 2005 draft, but the base was being built already. This one is similar in the sense that the very core of the defensive revival is about the DTs, who were both acquired on the fly last year. It feels very similar.

The difference between the Rams and most if not all teams, not just us, is that they know they can get solid starters with mid round picks, so they can afford to dangle first rounders to get studs otherwise. Large advantage.

Respectfully, my man, you ARE choosing to be unenthused. No one can make you that way, and given your number of posts on here, you’re fully invested as a fan.

Shouldn’t take a Birds backer to convince a Cowboys fan that you’ve got an opportunity this year. Not just with roster & coaching upgrades but given the NFC lay of the land. The Bears could be a Midwest surprise, but to me, the real challenge lies on the left coast and on any given Sunday the Cowboys can compete with the Hawks and the 9ers (let’s not touch the Rams for now).

Not suggesting you save up for SB tickets but you need to chisel away that “un” from unenthused.
