Jaylon Smith on GMF

I feel like he got paid and got a big head and wasn't focused on the mental aspect of the game so much after that. His breakout year he really looked like he was gonna be a star.

I can’t say that. He was always known as a humble good guy prior to coming to Dallas. I think he missed a lot of development time being hurt and rehabbing. He also had physical limitations.

Anyone watch this? I was utterly impressed with him. So well spoken, so bright, so positive.

They asked him to please explain what it was like playing for the Cowboys. He was clear... that "Cliche," Americas Team is real. The big lights, expectations.... he loved it all. Wants to retire a Cowboy. Said he weas so disappointed he didnt get to help bring a title home for Jerry. Another former player that simply had nothing but positive things to say about the Boys.

This kid was very smart.

He had flashes of brilliance here. In 2018 LVE and him seemed like a two headed monster that was going to be around for a long time. Injuries stole athletic ability from both of them too soon.

Life comes at you fast in the NFL. Hope he's finding purpose in a cool career outside of football.

Well he milked his opportunity for all it was worth, cant blame him for that I guess. He had the ideal situation, he got the Star treatment without having to produce, he even bought Romos number if I recall correctly. Good work if you can get it.

But the bigger joke was Jerry handing him that $50 million contract.

After all these miscues over the past 30 years it's really amazing that we were able to squeak out another Super Bowl win two years after Jimmy was fired. Not one, two. That's two years of garbage players drafted, two years of players leaving, and two years of no discipline at all. It's absolutely amazing what those players were able to achieve while Jerry, Switzer, and the rest of the stooges were on their backs choking them out. Not an enjoyable Super Bowl but we'll take it.

The OP had zero to do with his contract, his draft position, his abilities.... NOTHING about football.

It was simply an observation I had after watching him. He seemed like a genuinely good, friendly, well spoken guy that I enjoyed listening to. Nothing more.... and look how long it took for the same people to turn it into a crap on the guy session. Some people just arent happy unless they can complain.

I wouldn't use the word "hate," just a strong dislike. The way he acted was not a professional way to represent the team, especially after just signing a $50 million contract.

The bitterness some of you have with Jaylon is wild. Probably should have never been drafted where he was given the catastrophic knee injury.

Dude never embarrassed the Cowboys. He busted his *** to try to overcome what was a very serious leg injury. Has always spoken glowingly of the organization and the fans (despite the fact fans trashed him). He's been a real positive influence off the field for many people and is always looking to give back.

Yeah, other than that one really good year, he didn't do much here. But Jerry gave him that money, what was he supposed to do? Say no?

I do not see players on other teams celebrating like THEY made the play when they had nothing to do with it.

Pretending to be good in an effort to keep people from realizing you aren't is 100% a Jaylon issue. I never blamed him for the other stuff. Said he should be a Jones supporter as they gave him money.

LOL, you don't see players do that? It happens every game. I'd be rich if I got a nickel every time an NFL defender gets cocky after tackling a guy 7 yards down that field. LOL.

But if that's what bothers you about Smith and think that brings embarrassment to the Cowboys, I don't know what to tell you.

Most fans have forgotten about Smith and can't muster enough emotions one way or the other about him. For you to harbor such bitterness over a guy like this at this point is just strange to me.
