Numbers and esteem in the league would say Dak was better regarded than Ryan before the landmark Ryan year.

But we know how the game goes the Qb gets the credit and the blame. Hurts and Dardnold don’t because people refuse to to change their opinion on them. They believe they stink so they don’t want to give them their due. But both made key throws and and passes on those runs.

I fully acknowledge the qb credit/blame game is ridiculous both ways. Both hurts/Darnold are decent QBs, just nothing special. I think we are firmly in an era where average QB play allows you to be a legitimate contender. Dak more than fits that criteria, we’ve just inflated the QB position to the point it might be the most overrated position in all of sports.

I'm guessing I watched Detroit while Stafford was there more than you. Never heard this term used in connection with him. Neither has Google search.

Hypocrisy? When have I ever said overall team talent doesn't matter? Everyone should want to put as much talent on the field as possible. But I can distinguish between a high level talent who doesn't have enough around him or when a low level talent can't take advantage of the the talent around them.

So here's how i see things:

I know it feels like Dak will never reach a Super Bowl, but I say..... it feels like it won't happen until it happens.

New coach, new defense, new system, new ideology..... you never know. And if Terrence Steele is the weak link, make a trade mid year.... give a needy team something they want we have more of for a Right Tackle.

Lets see how this team plays against good teams on the road. If it's the usual 35-10 drubbing, like it is every time we play the 49ers and Bills on the road, then it really doesn't matter what Dak's stats are the rest of the year. Win or lose, we have to at least be competitive in those games.

Sorted by passer rating 6 of his top ten seasons were with Detroit.

Only four of his 12 seasons with Detroit were lower than 89.

2-5 playoff record and only making Pro Bowls are defining metrics at this point. If you want to make yourself feel better by hoping the D is better and the RT improving will make a world of difference.......I know you cannot be objective, but the Falcons D in '16 was 27th in pts allowed and 26th in DVOA, not good. I would probably say their OL will be similar, and Ryan had Julio as his WR1, but had nothing close to GP as his 1/2. Until Dak wins an MVP/gets to a Championship, there really is no comparison. I also believe that Super Bowl was the one that the Falcons totally fell apart in the 4th, blowing a massive lead thanks in large part to the anointed HC Guru Kyle Shanahan refusing to kill the clock with a run game

So well said. Given Dak has so many more weapons - "GOTI" - and his exorbitant pay and impact on the cap, free agency, etc. - there really is no comparison.

If Dak got us that close to a SB and the Christian Parker defense fell apart, not Dak's fault. Though you'd be hard-pressed not to notice the choke job.
