A commissioner now is completely different than 50 years ago.

The owners have taken complete control of the league by changing the commissioner from being a neutral overseer of the league to being the owners’ errand boy. Pete Rozell was probably the last neutral commissioner of the NFL.

Goodell is a good ol boy for the owners.

Goodell was a NFL person - worked his way up. Those of you who want to replace him need to be careful what you wish for. My fear is that he will be replaced by a non-football corporate person.

Say what you want, but Goodell is a tremendous commissioner. He works for the owners, yet isn't afraid to mix it up with them when needed.

I hate a lot of the results, but his job is to grown the league financially, which he's done in spades.

Even if he's paid $100 million per year, that's peanuts compared to the $24 billion the league generates annually now.

Owners and players get paid incredibly well now, but the heart is the league is a faded memory. Not even close to what it was in the 90s and early 2000s.

Really? So his suspension had nothing to do with being accused of DV against a woman and while be investigated he pulls the top up of a woman at a public parade and exposes her breasts? What about the fact that he knocked out DJ train at nightclub while being investigated for domestic violence yet all of the sudden the clubs cameras went down and no footage exists? Why didn’t the NFL investigate that? What about when he had to be restrained by teammates at a club in LV from, once again, trying to assault a DJ at club which he ended up being kicked out of?

Yeah, Goodell has a biased against the cowboys. I guess that’s why there was footage of a cowboys player in a confrontation with another person at a club and less than an hour later that person was gun downed in a drive by shooting. Said player didn’t turn himself in for 2 weeks and when he did everyone defended him because he was in the car “but didn’t know his friend was going to pull the trigger”. Lol, yeah, ok. Was he ever suspended? No he wasn’t.

Ya get that? A cowboys player was literally in a car that killed a man, hours after being on video in a confrontation with the victim, avoided the law for weeks and wasn’t suspended.

Keeping defending these pieces of trash and use the “Goodell hates the Cowboys” excuse to make yourself feel better.
