Honestly, Pete wasn't horrible at LG. I know he didn't make the PS, but I wouldn't be opposed to them bringing him in at least while Smith is on IR to backup Bass.

Some of these things can be played through without surgery. Can't blame Smith for not wanting to go under the knife and miss over a month if he could have found a way to manage it. Turns out he couldn't.

Better to have him for the last 11 to 13 games then to put him out there week one, really tear it up, and miss even more time than that.

You need to grip with your hands on the defender. You can do that if your hands are inside.

Honestly he was which is why he isn't on a practice squad. Leverett will be elevated to backup center.

Run game will suffer. Dak will need to be quicker on his release. Or needs a hot route or check down guy. Long passing game will be effected. Unless Bass plays better than expected.

Dallas ran the ball just fine in the games Smith missed last year that Bass started. Granted one of them was against the Jets.
