FEATURED Tyler Smith Is Out 4-6 Weeks

So he was struggling with this all summer? And they just now decided to get the surgery?

Dumb. He could have had the surgery when the original injury occurred and been ready for week 1 or thereabouts.

Hope TJ is ready to ball. And I hope we grab a versatile backup OL to add to the roster. Hate this injury and hate how they have “managed” it.

Bummer….lets hold it down until he comes back. If there was an issue you’d think maybe they do this 2 -3 weeks ago rather than try to “push through”

This is why I can't trust the Cowboys anymore. Their all-pro LG is dealing with a thumb injury all of training camp and they wait until the first week of the season to have the surgery? And listen to their false optimism. They hope an excellent surgeon and his history of healing quickly will mean 4 weeks or 4 games rather than 6. How about the Cowboys history of underestimating the recovery time? To me 4-6 weeks is 6 to 8 in Dallas.

Convince me it wasn't dumb to not get the surgery immediately considering he is a veteran and he wasn't going to play in the preseason anyway. Then he opens the season missing maybe 2 games instead of 6.

I hear all the chatter about TJ Bass is their best backup. Maybe, but he is still a backup and he is far from the caliber of player Tyler Smith is. AND, he is playing next to Tyler Guyton, the player we all hope has improved tremendously because in the past he has been pretty disappointing.

Forgive my frustration but this is just typical of the Cowboys and their losing ways. When it comes to injuries nothing they say can be trusted. I will thinking 8 or 9 weeks. That way I won't be disappointed if he isn't back in 4 to 6.
Think about this.....Having burned through 3 IR designations before the season has even started....I'm just not burning another one on Tyler. Just can't do it. He can be inactive for a month if need be. But you put him on that IR....He's out @ least 5 games minimum....since that 5th game is vs Tampa on a Thursday. Hell....they open the practice window after 4 games...No way in hell they would rush him back for the Tampa game. He'd be out for 10 more days....and then...if we are damn lucky...He's back for the Oct. 18th game vs the Packers...@ the earliest.
Disgusting roster management. Who the hell is making these calls???? Cutting Blue....Cutting Milton.....Leaving yourself with one backup interior linemen...Knowing you already got 2 guys hurt in Smith and Cornelious....Just plain stupid.

Well, Bass will need to not only step up against his own man but figure out how he can help Guyton like Smith always did when facing the likes of Burns, Carter and Thibodeaux for a full game.

They can only chip so much on Steele's side and all.

Aw heck what am I saying...
All the "experts" said Guyton don't need no stinkin help.
I'm sure they're right again.

Cowboys!

Cutting Keegan right now looks to be about the dumbest thing we could have done. Hell...If I was the Giants...I'd put in a waiver claim in for Leverett...then let's see who panics

This is a photo that my wife took of me doing my research about the exact nature Tyler Smith’s injury (I helped diagnose it), how long the team has been hiding it, and how long he’ll be out.

What?????? Yes....Let's have an injury to an interior O-lineman....So our only back up has to play. Let's roll into the season with absolutely no one as back up on the interior. Great plan schmucks.
Ajani Cornelius played OG all of this preseason...

Cowboys!
Who had this as your O-line going into the season????

LT-Guyton/Shelton (Not ready to play)
LG-Bass/No back up/T. Smith (hurt-IR)
C-Beebe/No back up/Leverett (practice squad)
RG-Booker/Cornelius (hurt-out)
RT-B. Jones (6 practices)/Steele (Sucks)

Yeah...I can see what might be holding us back this year :banghead:

Most of you aren’t doctors but I’m glad many of you stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

Many of us have seen the malpractice this team performs....year after year. It's nothing new here. Hell...I got 30 years of proof to back it up.
