Twitter: Dak needs 6 passing touchdowns to become the Cowboys franchise leader

Hopefully, he passes my guy (yes...I still rock with Romo) by week 2. That should mean the Cowboys offense is rolling. The defense is getting stops and/or turnovers getting them the ball back. Fingers crossed.

Lol, and neither one of them have even sniffed anything more than a divisional playoff game. Talking about a low bar. Seriously, when the top 2 franchise QB’s (EVER) with the most TD passes haven’t even won a divisional playoff game you should know something is wrong.

Well the only wrong that it proves is the teams and coaching staffs that they were part of didn't collectively get it done.

The great thing that I love about football is, it takes a team to win big, not just one player. No quarterback in NFL history has ever won a regular season, playoff game or Superbowl by themselves, I don't care how elite they are.

There are elite quarterbacks who have never won a Superbowl before, and there are non elite quarterbacks who have. It takes a team to win anything.

How many playoff wins does he need to catch up to Aikman and Staubach?
More stats my friend! They said Dak needs 4 more sacks, and he'll be tied with Dan Marino for the most sacks in his first 10 seasons without a 2nd round win in the playoffs lol

The last 30 years has made fans forget what matters most. It's unfortunate, but celebrating stats is all they're left with.

Just like Tony did.
Yes, just like Tony did. All QB stats started inflating beginning in 2009 when the biggest wave of safety rules for QB's began. There were some minor rules changes going back to 1993, but the biggest changes came later, right at the beginning or Romo's career. Without those changes Dak and Romo's stats would be more in line with Aikman's, minus the playoff stats, of course.

You don't say...... So it's only an individual thing when we're propping Dak, right?

Absolutely not. Dak has never won any games by himself either. See, im not one of those folks here that have one standard for one set of quarterbacks, but a different standard for a different set of quarterbacks in the same identical situations.

Football is a team game. No quarterback who has ever lived, who's currently alive, and future unborn quarterbacks have ever or will never win a football game by themselves.

Is that clear enough for you my friend? No double standards or hypocrisy here!!

Every era says the same thing about the previous ones. It’s the age old argument. Get used to it, it’s going to keep changing as long as the game is played.
That's literally the point he's making. The game is vastly different today than it was in the 90s. And there's an extra game.

That's why the standard of a good passing season is 4000 yards and 35tds instead of 3000 and 25.

4000 yd mark was hit 23 times in the 90s, 46 times 2000-2010, and 114 times 2011-2021.

League is saturated with mediocre qbs putting up 4000 yard seasons and 30+tds

I don't even understand why players have stats. It should just all be lumped into "offense" and "defense" since there are no individuals making a play happen. Need to change the HOF too. Should only be teams inducted.
