Twitter: Dak needs 6 passing touchdowns to become the Cowboys franchise leader

Absolutely not. Dak has never won any games by himself either. See, im not one of those folks here that have one standard for one set of quarterbacks, but a different standard for a different set of quarterbacks in the same identical situations.

Football is a team game. No quarterback who has ever lived, who's currently alive, and future unborn quarterbacks have ever or will never win a football game by themselves.

Is that clear enough for you my friend? No double standards or hypocrisy here!!
Personally, I think the way TD passes are tabulated should be reconsidered. For example, the offense is at the 50 yard line and the QB tosses a short 1 yard pass out to the left side. The receiver jukes the 1st defender and wins an easy open field race to the endzone for a TD. Did the QB really throw a "50 yard TD pass"? Not in my opinion, but I understand that how the NFL will track the stat.

This is 100% true no quarterback wins the game by himself.

But some seemingly impossible games are won by teams that have quarterbacks who are able to inspire everyone on their team to play 100% over their heads to the last second takes off the clock.

This is an intangible that can't be found on the stat sheet .

it has to be viewed in the moment to understand the impact it has on the game

the power a true leader that can inspire other men to sacrifice their bodies play through pain and do things they would not normally want to do. Is such a special and rare thing.

Cowboy fans haven't seen it in so long some may have forgotten what it looks like.

I don't even understand why players have stats. It should just all be lumped into "offense" and "defense" since there are no individuals making a play happen. Need to change the HOF too. Should only be teams inducted.

You may be on to something. Maybe you're right!! People always like to place all the glory or all the blame on quarterbacks, but it doesn't make sense in a sport that relies up 21 other starting players not including the special teams players and a total of a 53 man roster.

There are quarterbacks in the HOF that haven't led their team to Superbowl wins and quarterbacks who led their teams to Superbowl wins that aren't in the HOF. This is a travesty!!

So i think that you are on to something with your formula.....

Yep. Make it happen. You have my support.

To see the rare intangible on display watch the Cowboys game against the Commanders on December 16th 1979. ELITE LEADER OF MEN!!!!

Then to see the polar opposite for contrast watch the Cowboys against the Commanders on December 30th 2012. STAT COLLECTOR!!!!

Dak or romos touchdown figures and a couple dollars will get you a cup of coffee nobody really cares

Enough said

Roger and Troy were concerned about winning Super bowls for their brotherhood their teammates on the Dallas Cowboys. And us their fans

Now we have players like Dak and Romo concerned about compiling stats to enhance their future contracts for the brotherhood of the NFL.

Roger Staubach and Troy aikman our Super bowl winners leaders of men and in the NFL Hall of Fame.

Romo and Dak stat collectors contract negotiators and spit bucket carriers up to this point

Well the only wrong that it proves is the teams and coaching staffs that they were part of didn't collectively get it done.

The great thing that I love about football is, it takes a team to win big, not just one player. No quarterback in NFL history has ever won a regular season, playoff game or Superbowl by themselves, I don't care how elite they are.

There are elite quarterbacks who have never won a Superbowl before, and there are non elite quarterbacks who have. It takes a team to win anything.
This is the argument for loser quarterbacks that were never good enough to win it all. In the history of football, there's one single QB that has managed to transcend this argument.. and even he was able to get to 2 SBs.

I've never on my life heard anyone argue Tom Brady isn't the goat because his SBs don't really matter because they are only team trophies. It's just not how reality works.

.......trying to bait me to say, " how many of those TDs came in garbage time when a starting QB should have been pulled"?

Not gonna do it.

Funny how these records and stats get people riled up now that Dak has them. A lot of people doubted he’d even be in the league this long. Some said Andy Dalton was better. Some said Cooper Rush would take his job. Some said after his ankle injury his career was done because he couldn’t move anymore….

Romo was celebrated by these same people for breaking records. No one cared that he played in a pass friendly league compared to Aikman and Roger.

Because it’s Dak the conversation is “let’s get rid of stats” and “nothing to see here”….not by the majority just the same loud minority that hunts for Dak threads as if it’s their job to remind us of their poor predictions they had earlier in his career that were proven wrong but they will continue to double down on stupid.

At the end of the day he’s a Cowboy. These
Days it’s hard to decipher between the Eagle fans and the actual Cowboy fans. Or maybe it isn’t?

Roger played for an elite organization with an elite GM and a HOF head coach. Troy played on a team built by Jimmy who had the final say in all football decisions and that roster won three championships.

Dak and Romo played for a Jerry dominated organization rife with nepotism at the top and head coaches in name only with no power. You can blame these QBs all you want, but they never played for a franchise with a GM accountable for their lack of playoff success.

It turns out having a great GM and a real nfl hc with actual power makes a huge difference.

Roger > Troy > Dak > Romo > Quincy

Dak has spent his whole career trying to win. No one says let me compile stats and then lose playoff games.

It’s kind of odd it’s like in your insults of Dak it’s really insulting Troy and Roger. As if what they did was easy. As if winning SBs is something everyone accomplishes. As if Romo and Roger didn’t benefit from having a winning culture around and hall of fame players. As if Tom
Landry and a Jimmy Johnson rode their coat tails.

Meanwhile, Romo and Dak had Jason Garrett, Wade Phillips and Mike McCarthy hired by your favorite GM Jerry who’s proven to be…nevermind lol.

Garbage time, you disappoint me,
I didn’t think you had time for garbage,

I never said SBs don't really matter. I said there are elite quarterbacks who have never won a Superbowl by themselves before and that includes Tom Brady.

With that said, please send me a link, attachment, post or page number where I stated that Tom Brady isn't the GOAT and his Superbowls didn't matter..... I'll respectfully wait until you submit the proof of these accusations.

Until then.... if we're going to debate anything, lets not tell lies or falsehoods on each other to try to support your argument. Thats not a good look.

Im extremely glad that you took out the time to bring up the GOAT Tom Brady because you've cleared a path for me to land and prove why this is a team game....

Tom Brady is the GOAT right??? Ok cool. Well how does the GOAT Tom Brady lose not once, but twice to a quarterback in THE biggest games (Superbowls) like Eli Manning who most didn't even consider as an elite quarterback?

A GOAT loses to a non elite quarterback like E. Manning twice in the Superbowl?

Is it because Eli Manning is better than Tom Brady when it counted the most?? Or is it that Eli Manning's TEAM played better football than Tom Brady's TEAM? Because if its not a team game than Eli is obviously a better quarterback than Brady if a Superbowl is on the line according to your logic, correct?

Please enlighten us.....

Meh. Romo is still the better QB. In 2014 he had 7.8% TDs per pass attempt and averaged 5.7% for his career. With generally worse defenses and some woefully bad offensive lines.

I hope he gets it. It's good for the team if he does because it means scores!
He probably should already have the record. He has 12 more starts. That is 3⁄4 of a season more starts. He needs to quit taking his sweet time and just throw a bunch of touchdowns this season!
