Absolutely not. This is nothing but rhetoric from alcoholics to defend themselves drinking and driving. A 0.15 will affect your ability to drive, hence why the cops pulled him over because they noticed. This sounds like people who say "I drive just fine when drunk" like a badge of honor. Your motor skills decrease, as does your decision making skills behind the wheel. Your reflexes are slowed down and you become relaxed to the point of endangering yourself and others. 7 beers in the span of 2 hours is 100% the sign of an alcoholic.

Statements like these is why there is a drunk driving epidemic in this country. People having quite a bit to drink and still driving all because "oh well, I have a high tolerance, it doesn't affect me".

I'm not defending Romo, not was I some Tony megafan. I don't love either player.

I do think it's fair to point out that some of Tony's detractors on this wouldn't be acting the same if Dak did the exact same thing.

The upshot being that if a person is still absorbing alcohol, an immediate blood or breath test can actually produce a *lower* BAC than a test administered later.

He has taken some important steps in the right direction, So good on him. But it's too early to know the answer to the bigger questions. Hold him accountable for driving drunk, but don't shame him for acknowledging that he has a substance problem and getting help for it.

I don't think one awful incident—especially when the person is acknowledging a substance problem and seeking professional help—should permanently define Romo. I'd be much more interested in what Tony does over the next 6–12 months than in continuing to pile punishment on him for what happened in July.

Some states do... Wisconsin is, but after looking things over, the 0.15 is likely what he blew at the time
 
Yep Tony was in the wrong for sure.
But I do hate to see anyone lose their job no matter how rich they are or what the job is.

I grew to dislike Tony as a player in a big way.

But I liked him very much as an analyst and a human being.

I enjoyed listening to his commentary and found it very insightful.

Definitely embarrassing enough for him as a husband and a father losing his job on top of it is just kind of pouring salt in the wound considering it was nothing he did wrong while doing his job as a sports commentator.

It was a traffic violation after a golf game in the state of Wisconsin.

I imagine more than a few people have gotten DUI's and traffic violations here on the zone

And not lost their jobs.
Just something to think about.
I think by the time it's all said and done Tony will have paid a pretty stiff tariff for that indiscretion.

A very balanced view on things
People love to see famous people fail so they can jump on the pile
somehow that makes them feel better about themselves
