"at that point"??? What point? Week 1? Week 10?Its more about this:
Elite Season Grade (2025): During his breakout 2025 season, Spann-Ford posted a stellar 86.6 PFF run-blocking grade. This ranked him as PFF's No. 1 run-blocking tight end in the NFL at that point in the season. [1]
Since he only played less than 25% his grades aren't shown overall. His zone run blocking grade was 75.6 which was 13th in the league for TEs. So his best thing was 13th. Average that with his 9 catches. He also finished as the 15th highest rated TE "among partial-snap players" or in other words 15th amongst third stringers. Again, I really like the kid and am glad to have him but you aren't going to justify this contract based on anything he has done and anything other than a hope for what he might do going forward. Let's hope it comes in around $4.5M per when we see the details.
