The cowboys have BSF a nearly fully guaranteed contract? Guys like BSF don’t usually get 2/3 of there contract guaranteed. Are you sure?

I never said you were bent.I am absolutely of the opinion that they overpaid. That doesn't mean I dispute that the coaches know more than me
It also doesn't mean that they are correct in this case nor does it mean I'm bent out of shape over it. It's a discussion
Love signing him but $6M per???
I can only go by what I see on the field. Coaches must really like what they see in him. That being said, with him getting a commitment, I hope to see him do more than block this year. Those of you so ready to see Ferguson go, I am glad we have him. We now have the TE position locked up for the next several years. That is a good thing. Now, Hopefully Trigg becomes more than practice squad fodder. Ferguson is perfect for this team. You cant have an absolute beast at every position. Hell.....look at all the talk about not being able to afford Lamb and pickens. Imagine having Bowers, Lamb, and Pickens. Cant happen... so Ferguson is the perfect security blanket for Dak IMO.
I am willing to pay more for NFL football than just about anything. There is not much in my life during the year that I enjoy more than the NFL. So why shouldnt those guys get their fair share? I would give up movies forever if I had to chose between that and NFL. This is BY FAR, my favorite time of the year. I just cancelled cable, installed a home server and a rooftop antenna just because of the NFL. I couldnt cancel cable unles Ihad the NFL situation handled.its a smart move OR just solves the problem so other problems can be worked on. you dont need 50 fires, i dont like the pay. I think all sports need to say "enough is enough" you want to overpay, fine, pay them fair, put in for a health coverage program, than we ll see some paying done

Would be interesting if salary could be part ownership Ala Bron.its a smart move OR just solves the problem so other problems can be worked on. you dont need 50 fires, i dont like the pay. Why are you saying we overpaid w/o knowing their 3-year plan for him? Let's put it this way, if they let Ferg walk after this season and Spann-Ford becomes our new starting TE, would you still think he's overpaid? Ferg has no guaranteed money left on his contract after this season. He's the 5th highest-paid TE. They can exercise 7M gaurantee by the new league year. But that doesn't take away from the fact that we overpaid
Its less than 4 mil a year in 2027 and 2028.But that doesn't take away from the fact that we overpaid

We have to remember coaches have a much closer view of players in practices and meeting rooms that we as fans do not. Giving him a new THREE-year deal tells me they're expecting big things. I'm guessing they may see him potentially as a complete TE. He was always a good blocker. Perhaps Schotty and Wells ( TE coach) believe he can take his pass-catching to the next level.
In other words, I don't see this as an overpay at all........the kid is 6'6. Imagine, a starting TE who is like another O-lineman with solid pass-catching skills.

No it isn't.Its less than 4 mil a year in 2027 and 2028.
OK........but 6M per year for an NFL starting TE isn't an overpay. (Remember, my post suggested he could replace Ferg in 2027).
