If he wanted to punt then punt, I have no issues with that. My issue is taking the penalty for a low probability shot at getting NY to jump offsides. He did this several times last year to either take the penalty or waste a time out. If your at midfield and do that because the 5 yards may actually be beneficial for your punter then fine, it typically it feels like a guy trying to show the world how smart he is.

Agreed. Most of those calls have no right answer. Coach has to go with his gut. The same folks flaming him for punting would be flaming him for a failed attempt.

It would’ve been stupid go for it and most teams don’t. I would’ve went for it but it’s more stupid to go for it then not.

...I also had no problem. NYG was winning the LOS battle.

Shotty probably felt it too.

He should have said, If I knew the offense was going to suck so bad and our defense was going to get beaten like a drum all game, I would have gone for it.

He hadn't seen his defense yet. The only reasonable expectation was they would be better than they were.
