Twitter: Dak wasn't the problem Sunday, it was the defense

Only reason I framed my comment that way is because the main objective of why any team plays at any level, is to win it all. Otherwise, what are we doing exactly? In reality our cowboys are light-years away from competing for anything. I'm a realist. But I'd like to at least see our team and coaches make some progress in the process, even in a loss. I hate losing with a passion but accept it as long as I see desire, good effort, and high fb awareness on the field. After that first game, we checked not 1 of those boxes. I will say this, Barham hurts when he loses.I love his passion and desire. Now we just need to coach him up so he understands where to be. Him and Downs belong on this team. The rest of the guys, I'm skeptical. Especially the back 7.

Complete agreement. I just don't think Super Bowl should be in ANY ...discussion...at the moment.

Nope...I don't like losing either. BUT...If we do...play tough smart...make them PAY. We just seem to poo our drawers then fall into it face first.

Yes..on one had it was a good to see barham actually cares. On the other hand....he has to have some maturity and understanding about how the NFL works. Let's hope he channels that emotion and can spread it around. I don't want him to lose that either~! Just channel it.

Yep....I'm gonna pick on Dak a little bit but he certainly isn't the only one.

Dak thinks losing (and embarrasingly) should be okay with the fans. "don't like it...take off".

Not "I understand fans disappointment...I am too".

It's maddening.

Yip exactly right. I think we all knew deep down this defense was gonna be rough, a year of transition. What it looks like now isn't what it will look like come week 17 and 2027. What I'm still hoping for is we can win enough games in the process of learning. If so, come post season if we make it, we can do some damage. We are a long way from that scenario yet.

Learning is one thing, but I think this LB core is the gut of what our prblems continue to be. Aren't these the guys in the middle of the field? The same spot that Dart had open receivers all last week? Maybe I am wrong? How can you teach undersized guys to tackle, and trust me when I say every OC in the NFL watched Week 1 and still see the same issues on our D and the only thumper we have is veryyyyyy raw

I am not sure we need thatmany points.

What we need is a strong start to the game, control the clock...keep the defense on the bench. MAke THEM chase our points instead of the other way around. Chnage their strategy and make them work and worry EARLY.

For some reason we never address that area on the team properly, if at all.

We have had too many holes, thus, the problem. DT seems to have been fixed, but the large elephant in the room has been at LB for years....yet, here we are counting on an off-injured guy and undersized for the position they are making him play, to be effective. Just watch Fred Warner play at his age, and it's remarkable

But we have backup TEs and project CBs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
I tend to agree with the concept: Our defense is so bad, Dak has to play a perfect game for us to have a chance to win...... Not a dyed in the wool Dak fan now if I ever was, but that concept is totally unfair to Dak, imo.
Imo, Dak is the least of our problems. Our Defense is the problem.
