***Official Streaming Netflix, Amazon, Hulu and other streaming sites thread***

I don't know why, but I feel like maybe you posted in the wrong thread.
It's a mini-series on HBO about a former English soldier turned gambler (punter in the UK) who passes away under mysterious circumstances.

The series follows his daughters quest to find those responsible for his death and to resurrect his legacy allowing him to be buried with full military honors.

I .......think you're kidding?

I just finished season 2 of The Gentleman. I really like this show. Season 2 was a bit predictable but still a lot of fun. I am not sure I love where they are taking the main character, Eddie, but if there is a season 3 we'll see where that goes.

I found some of the scenes in the show predictable but one thing in particular struck me in the 7th episode. The was a scene after the fighting in the woods where Jeff finds one of the bad guys in the woods and lifts the bad guy's mask. When I got a quick look at the dead guys face he looked like Eddie's brother. That I thought was a tip off as to who was behind the attacks on Eddie and his family. Intentional or not?

Do not know if that was intentional or not. It is funny you say someone like the brother...I thought the initial Italian Liaison looked and kind of acted like the brother. However as you said, It was pretty predictable that his brother and Gospel John were behind all of that. Either way I love this show and I love the movie. If you have not watched Mobland you should check it out. Another Guy Ritchie vehicle about another crime family with Pierce Brosnan, Paddy Considine, Tom Hardy and Helen Mirren. It just started the second season.

Finished Lioness season three in one sitting.
If you liked the first two seasons, you will like this one.

Only complaint I have is them switching between timelines too much.

Star Trek Stange new worlds.
This current season was a mess. There were a few episodes I liked, some that were just meh and some that were *** episodes.

I like the idea of trying new things. Especially with Star Trek, if you have watched a number of the different shows, you will see they tend to have a few basic stories in each one....A haunted place, some reason where the majority of the crew are missing and only one member is awake and present. An episode where the crew is in a fairy tale setting or a vintage earth setting. You get the idea.

So i applaud trying new things for a series that has had many incarnations. However, some of the new things are just goofy. The everyone is singing episode, this seasons puppet episode or the soap opera one. Just goofy. In the past that would be a Q episode.

It is a shame this series has went off the rails. I think it has some good characters and cast. But there is only one more season and I hope they at least do a better job like in the first two seasons compared to these last two.

Discovery was much better IMO

The timeline jumps were very annoying.

I have not watched Lioness yet but the comments about the timeline remind of of when my wife and I went to a movie theater to see Wicker Park. They call it a non-linear timeline when stories keep bouncing from one point in time to another. But in Wicker Park the time jumps were incessant to the point of being unable to follow what was going on. Anyway, about 3/4 of the way through the movie there was yet another time jump and a few people in the audience let out an audible "Ugh!" The rest of the audience burst out laughing because everyone clearly felt the same way.

Once you realize they wait until the end of each episode to do present day, it's better, but it's a little anxiety inducing, waiting to see what happens. Her acting hit this season out of the park.

Yeah, it seemed like the episodes went serious/weird/serious/ridiculous/serious/... seriously???/serious.

Lioness doesn't jump back and forth during an episode. It just the back story for most of the episode, then current story at the end of each episode. At least that's what I remember.

Wrapped up season 1 of Stuart Fails to Save the Universe last night. That went by way too fast. I wish the episodes were longer. At any rate, I really enjoyed it and look forward to season 2.

Since I haven't seen it yet, I can't really comment, but I have that technique used in many other series. I always thought of them as time fillers. It is how you take a two hour movie and make it into an 8 episode series. Many of those episodes that go back to fill in the back story, at least in my opinion, can be done in a few minutes. It is just another idea that has been overused and is now cliche.
