Twitter: Wink Martindale offers to help outclassed DC Parker

This is what is called a feeding frenzy. The sharks are circling around Parker, but honestly, what did people expect from him? This is his first 3 games as a DC. And let's be honest, we should have known the Cowboys pass rush was going to be bad this year, and consequently the pass defense. The CBs were nothing to brag about when they were all healthy.

CP is not the reason Dee Winters is terrible. He is not the reason his CBs can't cover. He is not the reason his Edge player can't get to the QB. Gary has been a major disappointment, although he wasn't great last year. Von Miller is old. Malachi Lawrence may have potential but it will take time. Almost Eze is getting better but he just is not finishing. Now with all the injuries I don't know how any DC can be criticized.

That last play in the Ravens game was not a terrible call. Hindsight is 20-20 but who expected the Ravens to throw a 30 yard pass, complete it, get down and call a time out in 7 seconds? Given the Ravens credit for being smart there.

I am not saying Parker is without fault, but I think it is just piling on now. It's the HC who deserves all the criticism.
Agreed.

Thing was though, everyone was told that they would be a run stopping team first to get favorable down and distance, so that Christian could befuddle the opposing D with a razzmatazz blitzing concept.

A lot was talked of bringing a Fangio effective defense to Dallas. It’s just been defense minus Fangio and effective.

They can’t even get the run defense part down.

And I think you can put a lot of blame on him even with all of what you said. It’s not as if he’s calling great games and the defense is just not executing it.

We have the 5th lowest paid defense in the league being run by a new, first time DC.

The cap hit this year for Dak, Ceedee, and Pickens alone is under $1 million less than what the cap hit is for all 26 defensive players combined.

Not saying they don't suck. Not in the slightest. The 5th lowest paid defense in the NFL is giving up the 8th highest number of points. The team is simply getting exactly what they are paying for on that side of the ball.

We pay our offense 67% of the available cap space. This team is literally going to have to rely on outscoring teams. It's where the vast majority of are resources in talent and money are allocated.

Sucks, but it's what it is. Expectations for both sides of the ball have to, unfortunately, be drastically different.
So much this. I wish people who come to Dak and offense's defense realized that a lot much should be expected if them. They are all getting paid to completely carry the defense.. which of course they can't do with any consistency. And what do they do? Start slow, rely on Aubrey, and call plays that doesn't have faith in the offense to succeed.

We need a better defense and to not be so dang top heavy with offensive stars. 3 offensive players equaling the entire defense is not a recipe for winning a Superbowl.

Call him Jerry ...........now
Guess you could bring him in as a consultant........CP doesn't lose his locker room

Jerry and the media would never let boy wonder get upstaged. Not that Jerry cares about CP, bringing in an advisor would undermine Jerry selection of boy wonder CP. Not the media story Jerry pushes.

He shouldn't have called outside leverage knowing they had a time out. He left us vulnerable in the middle of the field. It was stupid.

Add to that what everyone saw week one when injuries weren't an excuse and hes been pretty hard to accept.

Schottenheimer was worse though. The mentality should have been go for the win on third and here's a back up play to run on 4th if 3rd doesn't work out.

Overtime with a beat to crap secondary was always a piss poor proposition.

Both coaches **** the bed.

Wink the stink was terrible in NYC. He's in college these days for good reason. Last person we need help from his that guy. Rather roll with CP.

I would not be opposed. IMO, we need someone who understands pass rush/defensive line deployment. Parker is a secondary guy.

My opinion is we should not have brought him in without also hiring an experienced defensive coordinator to guide him in implementing his ideas. Someone who has been there, done that could have told him when he was trying to do too much and when to throttle it back.
This is what I’m saying……he may be good at coaching up individuals on DB play…..that nothing like game planning an entire defense week to week depending on the opponents or making halftime adjustments when things go sideways. He’s a rookie, he may end up sucking at the game planning and adjustment stuff, maybe he’s only good as a position coach, it’s possible. We really needed someone like Jim Schwartz, Steve spagnuolo, Wade Phillips, Rex Ryan……someone who has repeatedly had defenses that produce, someone who can gameplan and adjust. I’m not a DC but EVERYONE is crucifying him over playing 1 man with outside leverage on that last play instead of shell…..literally everyone, they saying it’s football 101.

Yup…..exactly why I wanted to trade Pickens and bring in a difference maker on D. Too expensive to have 2 all pro high paid WRs, the last 20 Super Bowl winners didn’t need 2 all pro WRs (that I can remember) and we didn’t need 2 when we had a top scoring O a couple times since 2020. I don’t see us signing him long term after this year when he have Ceedee and he’s still clearly our top producer.
