You don't have to pay him now. You pay him after you see what he is and how he plays. He wanted out of Pittsburgh and who can blame him. They have an old QB and will be lucky to win 7 games this year.

We weren't going to sign Pickens anyway and my goodness Porter is better then anyone we have in the secondary based on the eyeball test. Our secondary is God awful right now.

You make the trade first then you find out if he will play or not. You would know this if you were a member of the family.

You are correct. However Rogers is almost in a Walker.. 38 isn't 33. Lot more wear and tear on Rogers, plus he is just weird.

I expect we will win more games then the Steelers this year. We have more talent overall. Time will tell.

But this is not a move for this year is what I’m reading. This about building the defense for the future. That’s what other posters are blithering about. You gotta get a team ready for when this QB gets closer to 40. That’s when good things will happen.

I don’t believe that. Before they do this they franchise tag him, because we’re in a two to three season window trying to win. It’s not all-in this year, not with this inexperienced coaching staff and defense.

And the numbers are screwed, it’s not 20 spots - more like 45. Compensation picks are at the very end of each round and we’d probably be picking somewhere at around position 20 in each round if we have a good next season.
