So where do we go from here .

The apologists will say it's only one game it's only a few plays.

They will rebound from this they will learn they will get better and a bunch of other excuses.

But down deep we long time fans know exactly what's going to happen.

Our leaders coach and quarterback have just put on display to the whole team their lack of talent in big moments.

They're complete and utter failure with the game on the line.

Sure the players will talk the company line and say how they'll rebound and it's a long season and they'll learn from these mistakes.

But down deep in dark places with their agents whispering in their ears we just cultivated a whole roster of career protectors and business decision makers.

What we witnessed was bad football and we can't unsee it but worse yet the rest of the team can't unsee it no matter what company line they throw at the media.
Our coach hopes our quarterback can still trust him.

Our owner said what he saw was unexplainable.

Does anybody believe the team still has confidence in its leaders seems like a lot of uncertainty coming from the top brass.

And if they lost confidence can they get it back.

Does anybody believe our leaders can change and get better in big moments and rise to the occasion.

Is the season pretty much done after that display will we underachieve just collect paychecks and muddle through.

Got to give it to Jerry he threw some more talent at the roster after that disaster can we make the playoffs still mathematically of course but mentally

Dak looked panicked. The coaching staff obviously panicked. This was a week 3 game.

But hey, as long as we don't get into situations like that, and we get out in front and all we have to do is take a knee to end the game, we should be ok.

I blame the coaching staff way more than the players for that loss.

We played not to lose. Schotty knew he had "the tie" on 4th.

Why wed play for OT when our secondary was in shambles makes zero sense to me. Instead of if its not there throw it away, we got 3...

We should have had a 4th down scoring play lined up. Just go for the win. OT was never the right call.

Then was got a special teams who not only gives up excellent field position but runs zero clock.

Then we got a d coordinator who plays outside leverage knowing damn well they have a TO in their pocket.

Yeah the players didn't get it done, but they weren't put in a position to succeed.

I like your write up but see it more hopeful Their still coming together I see improvement each game.. Expectations were unrealistic. For thirty years I've consulted myself patience. I'm tired but improvement gets me up once again into the breach

This team is so mentally fragile.
It’s over.

Why get mad at a puppet?

We were supposed to win the Giants game. This would've erased that loss. Instead, we were gutless and turned what could've been a comeback victory that could inspire us going forward, into a loss. We still have to prove that we are the 2nd best team in the NFC Least at this point. I know some people here are thinking we are #2 right behind the Eagles. You are what your record says you are.

We might win the division and make the playoffs. That's as far as it will go. Jerry always assembles teams that will stay around the rim and this team is no exception. The team has no heart. That's been the problem with many Cowboy teams this century. And it starts at the top. Jerry continues to hire his puppet coaches . People that won't overshadow him. Who did most of the talking after the Porter trade? It was Jerry once again trying to show the world what a great football man he is. This team is still a flawed team but what the Raven game really showed is when the pressure is on, this team will fold like always. It doesn't matter what trades we do or who we draft. This team is doomed as long as Jerry is in charge. He seems very desperate now. Should have been all in the last 30 years.

I'm not sure 'mentally fragile' is the right way to describe the team.

My belief is that there is no push from the ownership on down to be the best, that winning doesn't matter all that much. Jerry has said in the past that just remaining 'relevant and interesting' are his goals every year. Does that scream that the franchise is really focused on competing for championships? Does that tell you Jerry will do whatever it takes to get back to a super bowl? It doesn't.

So what happens when your boss tells you it no longer matters how you perform, that as long as you make things interesting that will be enough to satisfy him? The team takes on the attitude of the man in charge. I look at this franchise and I see a group of people who don't really care if they win or lose, and it isn't anything new, this attitude has been around for a while. Remember Romo's famous quote "If this is the worst thing that will ever happen to me, then I've lived a pretty good life." after a crushing 44-6 loss to the Iggs in 2008? The 1990's super bowl teams would have been destroying their locker room after an embarrassing loss like that, but Romo was like 'oh well'.

Winning didn't matter then and it still doesn't matter in 2026. Winning at all costs hasn't existed since Jimmy left the building.

You damn "apologist"!!! Why can't you just throw in the towel after the third game and be a miserable "realist" like most of these guys!!!
Lol
The reality is most of the league sucks but Dallas has the talent to have a special season.

The NFC East & NFC in general is there for the taking.

I don’t have a lot of faith in Dak in big games but from a macro standpoint I think Dallas can be one of the best NFC teams starting this week.

Great questions
Do these players really want to put their body, career on the line?
For someone on the sideline calling plays , they can’t control the game the way it should be,
You can’t learn this game on the fly,
I thought this coach could do it, but now no confidence at all
Can they win games? Yes can they win games when they matter most, I have no confidence at all,

PLAYERS, they have to be thinking the same thing,
The moments are too big, and they can’t think fast enough, that’s my issue with this coaching staff

As far as Prescott throwing the ball away at the end
Well, he had George Pickens opened in the end zone on the same play earlier in the game
And Pickens was covered like a blanket
And if you watch the replay, the ball was released before Pickens got opened
So I don’t know what to think about that

His brain just shuts off, I can’t explain it, but I totally agree
He’s a great quarterback, when everything is smooth and dandy
When it matters and I have to win , or my season is over
His brain shuts down, it’s like his mechanics disappear

We go to Houston and kick some you know what- can’t change the ravens game
No, we can’t change the ravens game
But the mental confidence that we would’ve achieved, by winning that game
The captains, on the team, in the locker room, can they motivate past this, it’s easy for fans, but how about the players, at some point they’re not going to trust the person in charge who they have to trust to make the right calls at the right time
