Quinnen Williams trade might have been a mistake

Depends what they ask him to do.

If he can shoot gaps then I’m fine with the trade.

But if he’s just there to clog up the run and hold blocks then that’s a big time terrible trade.

I hate giving up premium picks for anything involving the run game.
That is exactly right when Quinnen Williams is allowed by Parker to work his way toward the backfield, he is doing what he does best. Quinnen is a pressure up the middle 3 technique defensive tackle. Quinnen played well last week, I had my eye on him during the game.

Must read.

Correct. Parker is making him read and react instead of shooting gaps. Don't see any way that that's not moronic.
It is not Q’s fault that Parker went with the gap-and-a-half technique to read the blockers first. I wonder if it is out of necessity right now or if it stays that way.

The team regards itself as being in win-now mode - whether any of us agree with that or not. They were always going to trade one of those two first round picks.

There were far worse players they could have done it for.

there is no evidence of this.

IDK why people feel the need to tell Jerry one thing while Jerry says to their faces for 30 years "I AM NOT INTERESTED"!!

our fans "thats code for Jerry wants a SB"

NO.

The Quinnen trade is a bad trade, right now. Greatness always needs a running partner. We don't have anyone that demands a double team, like he does, playing next to him. That's the real problem.

They could've drafted Josiah Trotter with the 2nd round pick. The Packers this year might end up being a top 10 pick and the draft is stacked. 2 Foundational Pieces on rookie contracts is a better deal than Quinnen on a huge contract.
Could have. Should have.
I like Q.
He will grow further here.

The real mistake is not picking a lane and constantly building half a team. If you want a player like Q I’m all for it but then not adding a known quantity at edge this offseason was a miss, as they went the budget friendly route once again.
They been trying

Then why not hire a win now head coach? John Harbaugh and Mike Tomlin were available.
You said win now. One of those coaches couldn't win with the leauges mvp and one of the best runners, the other guy had checked out of football.

Don't understand why it would be Q's fault.

He wasn’t available then

Highly doubt they would have drafted Trotter anyways. Probably would have drafted Cisse or Allen IMO

It is frustrating. We see guys come here and get worse. Q was a star with the Jets, Clark and Gary was good players, even Dee Winters was serviceable.

Then you see guys leave and do better elsewhere. D-Law is a champion, Osa looks good, heck even Maliek Collins and Sam Williams look good on the Browns.
Sounds like a coaching or culture issue
Maybe both?
