Did the Refs Rob the Commanders of a Gutsy Road Win?

It's a judgement call
Yes. A judgement call.

That "under control" just didn't happen.
Not by the judgment of many.

Not sure what length of time on the call has to do with it being less than concretely called by the rules.
That was mentioned simply to point out that it was not an obvious judgement and took a significant amount of time to review it and pull out a judgment.

Of course I get why anyone here would say he definitely did, or any casual fan who thought they saw a good play happen,
or people who really, really wanted it to be a catch and won't let it go (overwhelmingly just Cowboys fans)
No offense but is beyond weak to invoke the ad hominem implication that anyone who disagrees with you must be a biased homer or a casual fan.

Bottom line is, it was, like you said, a judgement call. A judgment call centered on the football move aspect of the rule and there is plenty of room to make the legitimate case that a football move was made. There is room to disagree with that, as well.

Judgement call.

I guess Brady doesn’t know what a catch is. What does he know. Who wouldn’t trust AC against Brady.
Nah, just because your good at playing football does not mean he can see everything those refs saw. So, not really.

Brady didn't have access to all the camera angles.

The ref/judge looking at all the cameral angels flat out said he never established possession, thus he didn't catch it.

That being said: Dez DID indeed catch it.

Lol. Do you see anyone besides Cowboys fans still talking about this 11 years later or have they moved on to other things within their franchises? Has nothing to do with those who don't agree with me. At all. It happened to THIS franchise so THIS franchise still discusses it. Overwhelmingly. But if the Commanders fanbase holds a vigil every anniversary of the Dez play, please do let me know. Maybe they will about yesterday's play. Will this board?

And again regarding timing of making the call, Fox built in a commercial break they had to take. This could have easily been decided in game as customary so timing had nothing to do with it unless they were still debating once back from the break. They weren't.

You brought the whole thing up to instigate the Dez catch discussion and then have the nerve to accuse Dallas fans of not letting it go. You are a piece of work!

Dang, you caught me. It was my goal to have someone bring it up to me first on Page 9 too. Nothing gets past you.

What was the difference in the catch-non catch yesterday for Houston where the ball hit the ground?

The difference is that this one was an actual catch versus the Washington game where the ball move a lot in the WR's hand versus yesterday when the ball did not move in his hands when it contacted the ground!!!

I know what a catch is. After explaining it to you all over the years, you know what a catch is. Apparently, this ref crew (and replay crew) don’t know what a catch is. Was the fix in here? This play changed the whole complexion of the game. Dak, who was looking pretty shaky, seemed to settle in once he knew the game was in the bag (wink, wink). I mean, congrats to him on the All-Time Cowboys TD record but will he be able to sleep tonight knowing how he got it? Probably. He has a Sleep Number bed afterall.

Here’s the video. Look at the assuredness of the Commanders fan here, only to be disappointed moments later and watch his innocence go down the drain along with the Commanders' chances. I’m sure he doesn’t believe in anything anymore after this highway robbery.

Anyone who watched yesterdays game against Houston and complains about the refs needs to be put to pasture - The refs were desperately trying to keep the Cowboys in the game yesterday and they succeeded.

At what point is the NFL investigated?

I disagree. His left hand moved from under the ball to the side with his fingertips. So to me, he used the ground to catch it and didn’t have control.

PS - I didn’t think the refs would overturn it. They never do when it’s kinda close

Cant find the video but I thought his fingertips on the left hand stayed the same on the ball through the catch while the ball was touching the ground.

Ive no sympathy for the commanders or their fans

If it was Dallas they would say “the refs dont determine the game” and “yall choked”

As far as im concerned they can cry like babies

They shouldve been investigated long ago, but to keep it at a date point the NFC title game saints vs rams…all shouldve been fired

The crap they get away with is crazy…..however for the first time in like 27 years they seem to be on the cowboys side…..i guess….i’ll never forget that the cowboys had like 20 something games where the other team wasnt called for holding

Lol @ 20. It was like 8 and it was "on passing downs only." Thing is, no one investigated whether that was actually an odd occurrence or anything and just ran with it. So I investigated and the Lions literally had a streak of 7 games that very same season. That Tweet did its job though. I hope one of the cable news networks hired him for his effectiveness. Lol.
