Dak Top 5. Let's talk argument against it

Dak. All seriously. Is a top 8 quarterback every week. Problem is that one week he can be 8 and the next week 1. Consistency is his problem not talent. Especially in bigger games.
I've said this for a couple years now. My opinion Dak brings the extremes on himself.

The "Dak is top 5 QB' people are correct. The "Dak is a choker in big moments and playoffs" could also very well be correct. I call it the pendulum swing....huge arc on it!

If Dak could just settle in...just reduce those outliers a little bit...I think he would do even better in the long run of things. Tighten things up, take his personal wins AND losses (I.E. throw it out of bounds...or sometimes NOT throw it out of bounds!).

Sometimes he plays SO freakin well...then other times like...what are ya doing bro?

The issue is we take short snapshots of him. Then fight about it.

While I was being facetious to make a point, it is really depressing to think that we have given up that many 30 pts game.
yeah. tell me about it.
what's baffling that the defense was bad, I mean really bad in 2024, we have had three drafts since and we are still bad. not sure how that's even possible.

He's as big a reason as any that we lost today. Quite honestly, I have to say this. Our offense has looked PATHETIC in the first half every game this season for as talented and highly paid as it is. They have looked like a JOKE in a lot of games (except Houston) in the second half until about the 4tg quarter. And before people blame the defence, they gave up 7 in the first half. We were at home. There is no world with this offense and with a kicker who can hit from 65 that we should only score 7 in one half. We should be coming away with at least 3 every drive at home. The fact we couldn't is a problem with our offense.

Plus, I have to point out. This isn't the first time this season Dak's not seen guys wide open. He missed Lamb running all alone against Houston last week. He missed Lamb running a corner that nearly got picked when Dak, with his arm, should have gotten him in stride at the 10. He had Flournoy wide open on the 2 pt plate but he hesitated too long. And I'm sick of him doing that jump pass instead of setting his feet. That's something a rookie would do. It should not be something an 11 year player should be doing.

Cowboys need to gamble on a first round quarterback for the first time in 38 years

Agreed. And I have no problem letting the QB sit for a season or two. Dak is a solid QB still. Mahomes sat for a season or two behind Alex Smith before taking over. Not a bad move, and we have the team building to do that.

How we doing guys?? Did you see that turd he dropped last night? Top 5 my big fat butt!

But he will always be #1 in Yobwocs heart!
You do realize NFL.com had him #2 this week? Your trusted source for years you posted their weekly rankings until they started putting Dak Top 5 and then you kinda stopped. Weird how you stopped when Dak rotated into their top 5 every single week.

And while this was an uncharacteristic game for him, it doesn't say much about what his haters generally complain about. His ability to lead us to victory in the playoffs against tougher, sturdier gameplanned competition. This is just a poorly executed game, he wasn't dominated by some great defense even if they blitzed like crazy, the offense was still able to dot its receivers nearly every single possession..... but having 3 turnovers and forcing 0...... well..... there you go, that kinda writes the end of this story. People like Bland, Ferguson and Turpin were WAY worse. I'm not even gonna get into the offensive line because even if the Quarterback and Offensive Line didn't have their best game, without Ferguson ricocheting that last interception high up in the air, and if Bland wasn't awful in coverage giving up that 60 yard play and not catching that Pick 6...... we still might've, more probable case, came away with a win. Even tho we played THIS badly.

Did you honestly think my prediction was he would have 17 great games? Wishing for 3 or 4 of these type games is about in line with my predictions. He did have the Cardinals and Bears last year; I have not forgotten. Bears was even Week 3, so this year his due game came even later. Unless you're seriously thinking of blaming him for the Giants and Ravens. I guess you're not, as you don't seem like an irrational hater.... but besides 2 or 3 plays in those games..... the much bigger issue was the defense, so I think its stupid to blame him for those games.

I don't get Dak haters who feel like they've caught their moment to throw it in the faces of the Dak people. This game... kinda.... doesn't prove much.... except my generally low expectations for this lowly franchise.

The one pass I keep coming back to was the 4th down to Fergie.

Wide open and he airmails him. Geezus.

I been finding their ranking a bit suspect, when we were a .500 team playing against the poor competition. The quarterback got flustered in the season opening. The quarterback made a bad decision with a throwout, even if we accept the notion he was told by schotty to do so, and NFL.com ranks him that high. I know you buy. I have no idea why their ratings are so suspect. I half jokingly like to say they consistently over rate him to get Jerry to buy in and do foolish things like do win now trades trying to fix the defense to make a run with it, with Dak. I have no idea.

It's suspect when they rank Dak high..... GOT IT.

Despite Allen being bad for half the season. 2 out of 4 games. He was awful against the Chargers, but the Chargers are THIS bad is the reason he's somehow 3-1.

Mahomes and Purdy should be 1 and 2. Beyond that..... everybody has laid a turd. I would've said Dak was solid for all 4 of his first games until tonight, tho. So him being Top 3 was perfectly reasonable to me, until tonight.

Flustered in the opening game? He had 6 possessions. scored TDs on 3 of them, and one of those unsuccessful 6 was Schottenheimer's famous 4th down no-balls decision. Only 2 possessions you can reason the QB had anything to do with..... but really... we're gonna single out 2 possessions?

And you are talking about that one play against the Ravens??

He cannot maneuver around a messy picket adeptly , he is not nimble.

So I think tampa was kind of near his feet all night or he’s jsut scared of vea

But it seemed like dak threw off his back foot all night

Even that pass that smacked Ferguson in the facemask was a friggin dead cat he threw
