I don't like Dak but Schotty is the real problem here

I actually think Parker is right along who Jerry would pick. Unproven who would not take away the glory from Jerry. Schotty is here based on the same reasoning. When the pattern presents itself for over three decades, it is easy to recognize.

HC, yes. DC, no. DC has a pretty distinct history of being either previously tied to the organization, former HC and/or recognizable name.

Stewart/Wade Phillips
Rob Ryan
Monte Kiffin
Rod Marinelli
Mike Nolan
Dan Quinn
Mike Zimmer
Matt Eberflus

Christian Parker's name just does not belong in that group at all.

Dak is a veteran and didn’t play well yesterday, period. I don’t like him as my QB but I’m not here to talk about that today beyond that. My problem with this unit in 2026 is the coach. They’re softer now than ever! They don’t look like a team that cares enough to fight for their head coach and THAT IS damning. It worries me that Dak thinks that this game against the Buccaneers was a game they should have won. What is the coach telling them in that locker room? That they’re the Cowboys and showing up is enough for them to win? We also played like **** against the 0-3 Texans in the first half too. We can’t keep coming out slow and unprepared against at the times winless teams or any team for that matter. It’s on the coaching. This is my least favorite era of the Dak era and I don’t think that’s hyperbole or recency bias. FIRE Schotty!
50 year fan here. I have for the first time totally lost hope. People are `100% right about Jerry. This team is screwed til we get a real GM. I like Schotty, but he obviously isn't the answer. I like Dak but he constantly turns in bad games after some amazing games.

But my greatest concern here is that we just may be jinxed. Think of the Chargers. They brought in, supposedly, one of the top coaches and if possible are even worse than us, again, supposedly with a "star" QB who plays like crap. I don't know the answer other than JJ stepping down, but I don't think it will get corrected in my lifetime.

We hear this a lot and it is true. Organizational structure and accountability also matter. Good organizations set the tone for accountability and structure. Then they allow the coach to set tone on the culture. That is why Jimmy didnt allow Jerry to prance his A list guests through the locker room. Accountability and Authority. Jimmy understood the dynamic well in advance. His contract had it in writing and his actions proved it.

Top coaches cannot succeed in this environment and Jerry will not cede control to a top coach. That is why we have Schotty and Big Mike type coaches. They are not difference makers. This organization has no rutter and its sail/sale is showbiz. Some hold out hope that talent will overcome the inept organization. We are doomed with this formula. Add more free agents, draft more great players, and watch the disappointment.

Question: Do you think this franchise could draft or get another QB that could overcome/withstand the dysfunction exhibited weekly and yearly?

We've had two QBs (Romo & Dak) that exceeded their original expectations and a GM that tossed out Payton Lynch and Johnny Manziel interest, once upon a time.
This franchise can't do what SF has done with Brock Purdy (Mr. Irrelevantt, once). I think we should enjoy, relish, and hope with the moments Dak has given, even with the miscues, just like we did with Tony Romo.
It could be worse if this Franchise has to go get a QB instead of one overachieving and falling into the lap.

We need a QB that is able to change the culture of the franchise. Dak isn’t the guy. Brady was. Peyton was. Allen is. Patrick Mahomes is. Brees was. Teammates fight for a guy like that. Dak doesn’t change the culture here. Being ok enough for a decent regular season isn’t enough. He’s just a way worse Josh Allen. Josh Allen is undeniably a better QB but still hasn’t won the whole thing. Allen at least has proven he’s changed the culture and the city loves him. Dak hasn’t done that.

Yeah, the guy who has been leading the team to mediocrity for 10+ years “is not the problem”

You guys are just tools

The roster builders will continue to do everything in their power to avoid having a wholesale change to the offense in order to keep Dak comfortable.

Once you can accept this, your perspective will allow you to see that Dak and Schott as a pair, are a premeditated package deal.

Ya don't get one without the other unfortunately.

Extremely sad reality of the Cowboy Head Coach and starting QB reality.
What's even worse is when you add in the GM and you've completed the hierarchy triangle of ineptitude.

Near future looking incredibly bright...

COWBOYS!

Oh but the “ analytics “ said it was the right move. You didn’t know this?!
who cares. otherwise lets put an AI in charge of play calling. why do you need a coach.

and to me, that would mean that you had to get into the endzone 3 times, not just twice.

How'd you come up with that......are you watching our defense, front office, and the sideline. None of the QBs mentioned been on a team with the many flaws visible by the Dallas Cowboy organization. And before Dak, did Romo change a culture? Way over the top with that assessment.

Correct. But I was told it was the right move and it was wrong to kick the extra point

I disagree.

I rather score two TDs and go into overtime. than have to score a 2 point conversion, just to tie the game.
Exactly!!! The flow of the game and nuances of analytics. None of which our clown coach has a feel or even knowledge of. To early to chase points for the exact reason of if you don’t convert the 2.

Aaah, shut it. Dak was constantly under duress. CeeDee got injured. We had no running game. GP was constantly double teamed. Ferguson had 2 passes go right through his hands and get tipped into the air for interceptions. The defense played like crap and never got off the field. Dak was the only one who could be trusted. If you don't like him, too bad. That is your problem, but Dak was not the problem.
Dak was definitely PART of the problem last night. All the things you said here is correct but Dak being part of the problem can also be true as he was last night. He had his worse game this year. He threw a few in the dirt and overthrew a couple as well. And I am a Dak supporter. He was trash last night

Me, reading these posts after taking abuse all off-season:

I'd be just fine seeing them both go.

I hope the Dallas media decides its about time to ask this guy some tough questions.
