I am really trying to understand our QB

We've seen this from Dak many times- he needs to be perfect for the team to have a chance. When he's not, the onus falls back on him alone.
I haven’t seen anyone say the defense was anything but terrible but two things can be true at the same time. I’m not even putting the INTs on Dak alone he had help.

That said he just doesn’t give this team a spark when they need it the most like great QBs tend to do. He gets antsy and lacks confidence, he doesn’t have that leadership gene.

And to be honest what he did to that stadium employee in his press conference just exemplifies to me that he’s a loser.

You'd be worried also knowing that you'll have to put up 30 point's or more to win before the game even begins:facepalm: Dak is about the only QB in the whole NFL having to deal with this . Not just every game but every season,,,That kind of pressure is crazy. I have only respect for Dak when it comes to this .... Many other guys would had cracked under this pressure by now.......SAD.....Sad in deed...Mahomes-Allen-Jackson doesn't have this pressure.
Dak had zero rushing attempts yesterday

Don’t tell me he’ll do what it takes to win

The bad part about Dak last night was that an undrafted rookie QB made more plays than he did to win the game. Dak is an 11yr vet that should have shown little man up.

Yes the defense failed, but the opportunities we did get, we had to punt after dak had one of many bad throws.

I cant believe he is an 11yr vet, and I watched Dak have such a worried or scared look on his face at times during the game, while the "one read and run" kid had the ******* smile on his face all night.

We sucked as a team last night, but this one is on dak in the grand scheme of things. A close game like this, at the end of the day, the ball is still in your hand, leaving your hand, based on the decision you make, that pings in your brain.

Tampa was almost just as bad, but atleast their QB (who looks like he was just called out of a high school 5th period class room to play QB for the bucs) out played dak.

I am really sick of dallas constant QB stupidity. The 20+ years between Dak and Romo, i dont know who was worse.

I have faith that our next 10+ year 4th or 5th round QB is sitting somewhere in a small college, will once again provide false hopieum and divide the fan base of supporters and non supporters.

I dont know if I have another 10+ years of mental for that. And you all know that is what's coming after dak leave, it never stops.
Dak, surprisingly, couldn't beat the blitz last night. Bowles' plan was to apply lots of pressure to disrupt any timing for Cowboys and it worked. Props to Bowles. Coaching and preparation matter. Of course, we couldn't expect the Cowboys to counter that with some screens, draws or a delayed releases from the backfield.

Their rookie QB didn't outplay squat. You cannot equate QB play against two different defenses. Every QB in the league is going to have success against our defense so stop with these blanket comparisons. Dak is not going to play lights out for 17 games, no QB in the league is.

This place is becoming more and more like a political forum with how cherry picked and biased these takes are.

Dak did not play well this is true. I was very disappointed with his play but if you think having Patrick mahomes or a different QB for this team would just automatically make this team a contender then you have lost your ability to look at this sport objectively and need to take a break.

This defense is historically bad and when you have a defense this bad it changes how your offense operates. This year so far is on the defense point blank period.

I get that emotions are high but some people really don't need to post every thought that enters their head.

You do know that Todd Bowles is one of the best defensive coaches in the NFL, right? His defense completely shut down Mahomes and Ried and the 16-2 Chiefs in the SB. Mahomes played in 21 playoff games and only 3 other times he was held without a TD. He had a 52 percent passer rating which is one of his worst ratings in a playoff game.

The fact you think the rookie QB has a defense like Dak does is beyond ignorant. He didn't outplay Dak, his team did. The rest of your point is moot because you can't figure that out.

No just saying Daniels would not have had such an efficient game against a defense that was actually better than terrible. And Tampa's rating does factor in the Cowboys gaining 366 yards against them.

As for Dak, he did poorly, but both picks should have been caught passes while the OL and playcalling were horrible. You want to slow down blitzes? Run the ball. The Cowboys called 13 runs. That's on Schotty to me. We've seen this from Dak many times- he needs to be perfect for the team to have a chance. When he's not, the onus falls back on him alone.

Again, not excusing Dak for last night, it was not a good game by him at all. But how many teams need their QB to be absolutely perfect to even have a chance to win? That's what the Cowboys are right now.
I don't understand your (very common) argument.

WHO...exactly...is saying "Dak MUST BE absolutely perfect"?

Nobody...it's The very definition of strawman.

It doesn't mean Dak is absolved from cirticism. What? Do we have to go through every other issue first before getting to Dak...every single time?

And so Dak couldn't have chosen a better read? A different placement of the ball? I think it could have been a better pass IN FRONT not behind (or "at the helmet" as some Dak defenders say). Catchable? SURE. "absolutely perfect"? Nope.

We know Ferg sucks...it's nearly unaminous here.

I dunno...I'm just saying there are a myriad of possibilties. I am NOT saying it was dak's fault...so don't make THAT one up in your head.

Yes everything in the offense is the fault of one player.

2 INTs that hit receivers' hands are the fault of the thrower.

Simpleton thinking. The comments about what Dak's face looks light is just...really pathetic.
Actually the one that hit Ferguson in the hands was a hard pass that didn't even need that much on it. Dak was "Peter Panicking" so much, he didn't know whether to put mustard on it or touch on it!

All of that good jazz about a once was 0-4 bucs team.......

I swear to God that Dak haters do not watch any other team or QB other than Dak. I don't even think they watch anyone else on the team other than Dak.

Is he the best QB in the NFL? No! Is he top 5 - 8? Absolutely!

This is not about me being a Dak apologist. It's about emphasizing this is a BROKEN franchise...and there are lots of problems...and Dak is way down the list. If the front office, linebackers, cornerbacks, TEs, pass rushers, run blockers, and coaching were as good at their job as Dak is at QB....our outlook on this franchise would be pretty rosy. That does not mean Dak is perfect, the best, or above blame!!! It means if you think Dak/future QB playing perfect is what it is expected, this franchise can forget ever competing for a Super Bowl again!!!!
:muttley:

Dak played poor. But he hasn’t played like this all year. It happens. It shouldn’t happen against the Buccs but it did.

So essentially you want Dak to outplay everyone he faces despite them playing the worst defense we’ve seen….ever.

I just don’t know what you guys watch.

Dak struggled. Horrible. But we know that hasn’t been the standard for how he has played this year. He’s been one to the few bright spots.
They dont watch other qbs. I was critical of Dak as well in the first half, in particular there was one series where he blew three straight throws. He looked terrible.

However, every qb has games like that. As much as Tampa sucks and was ready to collapse their defense is still top 5.

Of course they will destroy Dak and anyone who isnt completely in agreement with how terrible he is, but its the nature of the game. He deserves criticism for his performance, but it shouldn't be to the point of how hes a crap qb and is solely responsible.

Yeah, Unbelievable for a 11 Year Vet being Outplayed by Undrafted Free Agent!!!! :banghead::laugh::muttley::huh::facepalm::thumbdown:

Dak had a bad game. He’s not going to play perfect every week. And the post game situation in the tunnel was lame.

But the number of people being dramatic about the QB is amusing. He’s not a top 5 QB. He’s a very good QB about 25 other teams would love to have.

Yes Dak is a great player. But last night was not good by him. He wasn't alone. But for him to spend his time pushing back about the comment made to him but the worker is plain stupid. It shows his fragility.
He got asked a question and answered. He probably is fragile. To me that has no bearings on our success.
