This isn’t about discussing whether it was a good trade or not. I think we have exhausted that discussion.

No doubt we received much in compensation . But what we have received thus far hasn’t enabled this defense and team to fully recover.

If anything this defense has continued to decline and it’s much worse in last two years than previously with Parsons.

So, do we have to wait another year and draft to begin to recover and rebuild this defense. Do we have the right coaching in place. Was our trade for Q the right use of resources???

Right now I’d argue we have more questions than answers and we haven’t recovered from Parsons trade yet.

When players are traded for draft picks (I know we got some players) the entire transaction can't be evaluated 14 months later. Judging the defense post Parsons also includes a lot of rookies and new defensive coaching staff.

For the record, the Cowboys won the trade. Getting rid of his contract was a good thing. And having him on the team now wouldn't have made much difference. We weren't significantly better with him.

this is a very true statement

This, wasn’t like the D with him was Doomsday II, he could get to the QB but D still couldn’t stop the run, and a lot of that came from his side, because he was running past the RB towards the QB.

Theres more than enough talent to have a middle of the road defense.

Downs
Thompson - is a nice pair of safeties

QW
Clark
Ogbonnia - are strong inside

JPJ
Durant - are good at cb

Barham
Overshown
Winters - with Barham this group can be good at lb

Gary
Lawrence
Eze
VM - should be enough to generate a passrush with our interior presence.

Im not going to mention depth or disappointments, because they are all disappointments now.

When every player regresses or doesn't live up to his potential it looks real obvious we don't have the right coaching in place.

Guess who you don't have on the field? Porter, Durant, Thompson. That is a significant loss. Bland is done. Winters is average. Overshown should NOT continue to be the mike LB. He can't stay on the field. The linebacker group continues to be a problem. The same worries we had during the draft are the same worries we have now.

Failure of a trade. We got WORSE, at both run defense and pass rushing. Having a guy who constantly gets pressure, fast…makes a big difference in the secondary. This was one of the stupidest trades ever, all out of Jerry’s childish temper tantrum and his endless ego.

Yeah dude, I've seen the games. Injuries happen. We got hit hard in the secondary. Coaches have to adapt and overcome. Ours dont.

Barham is our MLB, im not advocating for putting Overshown back there. Winters had a really nice year last season. Not every position group will be one of strength, but they are enough to be mediocre.

This isnt a talent issue imo.

Remember when people claimed our run defense was supposedly fixed now that we traded Parsons?

I do.

Now, our run defense still sucks and we have zero pass rush.
I always think of this, that’s not a small sample size. I think he had a similar impact to Green Bay’s defense, though I’m too lazy to research it.

Sad they couldn’t keep him and add to it, blah blah blah pie.

Hopefully some miracle clicks in like Lawrence turns into something legit

Bottomline remains we haven’t recovered yet from trade.

At this point I’m figuring that no matter what they try to do it won’t work.

Jerry and kid aren’t qualified to compete in this league, and they certainly don’t deserve any breaks, which they rarely get.

After a few years, blame it on the coaches, then hire another staff that can’t handle it either.

They aren’t even qualified to HIRE people to run the team and get out of the way. They’d make the wrong choice no doubt.

If this is a third straight losing season with Prescott healthy for the most part, how much longer before fans actually do speak up? Not here, I mean the general crew that shrugs it off. The ones that chant Jerry’s name like some rockstar. We know the media isn’t allowed to say anything.

Just because you finally actually decide to make a decent effort to win doesn’t mean it’s going to work, and when you’ve got young players and coordinators
it just might not go well right away.

These guys are like fans, and not ones that have the right idea.
