Dee Winters a LB we traded a 5th round pick for seems near unplayable at this point.
His abysmal Pass Coverage grade of 39.9 is even lower than over all grade of 42.5.

Cedric Gray from Titans has seen a noticeable cut in playing time. I wonder if he'd be available. Much better tackler, experience in Match system and better at coverage than Winters.

Who else do you see reasonably being available at deadline?

I dont think at this point t throwing bodies at the problem.is going to fix.anything.

Almost everything in this defense is broke.
We have tried quick fixes three years now and its not working
Have to build ground up. And systematically

Eh,
Not sure they really have ammo to bring someone else in at this point.
They have 2 LBs in Overshown and James who have the athleticism to play the WiLL. And Overshown has no business playing the MiKE!
Hell, Bell was excellent as a coverage LB a few years back. He should be able to play it at a descent level on 3rd downs in coverage!

At this point I would just play James over both Winters and I Overshown. He has played better than he did last year, and at this point is probably better than both

This, it would be like putting a band aid over a gunshot wound. We need so much on D don’t even know WTH to begin, way more than 1 player away but other than Barham and Downs, not much there. Hopefully Porter can be a player but he will need help back there.

I don’t know anymore man, it seems like everyone we trade for plays WORSE when they get here. Q, Clark, Gary, Winters, Thompson…literally everyone so far except Porter because he played like 20 snaps. This is a bad sign, everyone plays like crap here. So even if we trade, they will likely not give us anything.

I've spent excessive time reviewing the All-22 of all Cowboys games this season.
- Winters is not great but it's almost impossible to "grade" a LB's coverage in this zone scheme.

I'm more concerned about the coverage of CBs Bland and Reddy.

I think Parker wanted to play some 5-1-5 "Penny" but too many DBs are injured.
- Downs would replace Winters in that scenario.
- Downs did it often at Ohio State.
- It's basically a Nickel version of the 3-4.

Tampa Bay Game
Defensive Snaps
Barham 79%
Dee Winters 64%
Shemar James 42%
Barron 6%

If James can't do it, spin the wheel and see who else we have to put in.

I am not trading for anyone. Use the pick to get a good rookie next April on a rookie deal.
A lot of medical concerns on top guys in draft.

KVA 2 ACLS she knee a hammy and broken thumb. Don't think he'll hold up to NFL, and I like him alot.

Whit Weeks broken leg

Tony Rojas coming back from acl

Suntarine Perkins coming off torn labrum and a little small.

Leaves us with Brown, Cole, and Biles.

Brown likely top 15 Cole top 20 if not higher by draft time. Blies top of 2nd. And Biles a little small to me too.

Besides trading a 2028 doesn't preclude us from taking a guy in draft

NO MORE TRADES!!!! They should be acquiring picks, not giving them away. If they had any brains (which they don't ), every decision for the last few years would have about moving on from Dak and positioning the team for success with a new QB. A decade of Dak is more than anyone can stand.

If we just signed Wagner, we would become better, sure get him off the field on third down. This staff is not as good at evaluating talent as it thinks it is. This is even with thinking he would be 80-90% of what he was last year. We have players Ferguson and Bland that only on the Cowboys would you be on the field because of contract. We have had these type of issues for years, whether it be Zeke, Steele, Diggs, and Jaylon Smith to say a few. You could add Bryant toward the end of his career to, which I think he still could play, but just not as the no one receiver, put him as the 3rd/4th he would of had a better situation for himself instead of the precipitous drop off. Another reason to sign him because someone will get hurt, it's a fact. I don't like injuries, but it's ok to live in reality.

Yeah I’m confused by the Winters call out I get around big plays you see him but I don’t know how you can even understand his responsibility in this scheme. Like you said I think they have Winters playing the role a DB normally would due to injuries.
