I am really trying to understand our QB

Yes, a huge lack of awareness if you don't comprehend that the O is responsible also.
The Cowboys are 12th offense (driven largely by being 28th in rushing offense) but are 32nd in total defense. They are 1-10 the past 2 years in games they score under 30.

If you have to score 30 to win any game and your defense is that bad then any team in the NFL can beat you because no offense can score 30 every week. I’m bummed at how bad the rushing attack is but right now their biggest problem is that they are not getting the ball enough as the Cowboys are first in points per possession but because the defense can’t get off the field that doesn’t matter.

You'd be worried also knowing that you'll have to put up 30 point's or more to win before the game even begins:facepalm: Dak is about the only QB in the whole NFL having to deal with this . Not just every game but every season,,,That kind of pressure is crazy. I have only respect for Dak when it comes to this .... Many other guys would had cracked under this pressure by now.......SAD.....Sad in deed...Mahomes-Allen-Jackson doesn't have this pressure.
Yup. Dude had a bad half and and it’s always his fault. Dak has his flaws, he only played great in the playoffs once….but damn man, people act like he’s in the bottom half of the league and not the top 5 (or close)statistically every single year, AND, that we don’t have an absolute GARBAGE defense and incompetent coaching staff….nope, all Daks fault. Needing the team to score 30 a game is ridiculous. Hell, Dak lead the league in TDS in 2023, had us as 12-5, with washed up players for a #2wr. Wasn’t it 3 straight 12-5 seasons under McCarthy with one of the best offenses in the league and a garbage run D? Come on man, Dak ain’t the problem this season, not even CLOSE! If we had an average D we would be undefeated or maybe lost 1. They act like no QB ever has bad games, like Super Bowl winner are all over the place in the draft lol. Josh Allen and Burrow have stinkers too! People don’t realize we are pretty well of at QB, but it takes more than than to win.

.......... because no offense can score 30 every week.
Well on certain weeks GOTI cant even score 20.

The Cowboys are 12th offense (driven largely by being 28th in rushing offense) but are 32nd in total defense.
Maybe we should be running more.....because the passing games flakey and inconsistent.

The bad part about Dak last night was that an undrafted rookie QB made more plays than he did to win the game. Dak is an 11yr vet that should have shown little man up.

Yes the defense failed, but the opportunities we did get, we had to punt after dak had one of many bad throws.

I cant believe he is an 11yr vet, and I watched Dak have such a worried or scared look on his face at times during the game, while the "one read and run" kid had the ******* smile on his face all night.

We sucked as a team last night, but this one is on dak in the grand scheme of things. A close game like this, at the end of the day, the ball is still in your hand, leaving your hand, based on the decision you make, that pings in your brain.

Tampa was almost just as bad, but atleast their QB (who looks like he was just called out of a high school 5th period class room to play QB for the bucs) out played dak.

I am really sick of dallas constant QB stupidity. The 20+ years between Dak and Romo, i dont know who was worse.

I have faith that our next 10+ year 4th or 5th round QB is sitting somewhere in a small college, will once again provide false hopieum and divide the fan base of supporters and non supporters.

I dont know if I have another 10+ years of mental for that. And you all know that is what's coming after dak leave, it never stops.
Lol lol lol there's so many nuggets on here, the future QB in the 4th or 5th round is nuts lol lol, you know how this goes! He'll have a few games while Dak is out, we will ride the hot hand. We will name that kid the starter and he'll wow us, then he'll let us down epically!!!!

I'm pretty indifferent towards Dak one way or another, meaning I won't go out of my way to defend him or persecute him. Was he good this game? No, it was the worst game of this year. The bigger issue for me with him, is that he is friends with a guy that doesn't deserve to be on the field stats, metrics all prove this, and he will be on the field after this mini bye. Who am i talking about Jake Ferguson, which such simple things, could of made this outcome different, not saying definitely, but there was a chance, and it hurt the Cowboys catastrophically.

That comes across as deflecting towards Ferg as being the problem. The problem is and has been for some time on the Offensive side of the ball is the stark differential between Dak with a lead and having to step up. For example, I think the last two occasions Dak's orchestrated a TD comeback win with the last 2 min, came vrs (1-11-1 - 2022) Texans and the (0-4) Texans last week.

NO, IT'S NOT HIS FAULT, but as is always pointed out, he needs too much to succeed.

Exactly and that’s the NFL. You have to have a win condition that is winning a game
17-10 especially when they put so much into the defense recently. If you are 1-10 in games you don’t score 30 then there is simply a ceiling on how good the team can be.

Do you think Aikman or Staubach will say their offense is GOTI? Think about it. That guy accomplished nothing and just talk. He is like our incompetent HC. All talk but no show on the field.

Or are they though? There are people who agree we have the worst defense, but that's not what they are arguing, and made their arguments throughout threads spanning into many years. Just because you see someone criticize the QB, you can't assume that they don't know that the defense is a bigger problem. Each person you would need to know their posting position dating back to 2018 or 2016 and the stances they took in the past and what they have said in the past. Not every person has the exact same position, not everyone was critical at the same time. I mean the stance you are taking is that you believe we can win in the next couple of years, including playoffs. Other people just look at the playoffs, and say we might can squeeze in, but then what.
I see you rpoint but let's be honest. There are people who blame Dak for everything that goes wrong with this team. Sure they know that the defense is the worst in the league over the last 2 or three years. But they think Dak is the bigger problem, as if Dak should be putting up 50 points every week - a standard no other QB in the league has to meet.

I am not going to argue Dak is a top 5 QB in the NFL, but he is far from the problem in Dallas. Against the Bucs he was driving the team for a second potentially game tying 4th quarter TD when Feguson inexplicably knocks a ball up in the air which was intercepted by Tampa. Of course the Dak ranting began almost immediately as if that pass was Dak's fault.

It is not Dak's fault that the TOP was 40 minutes to 20 minutes. Did Dak play a great game? No. For 45 minutes he was pretty awful actually. But 3 turnovers, none of which were on him, did them in. At the end, when it mattered, Dak was playing well enough to win if he had some support from his top TE.

I actually believe the new 4th/5th rd QB will give us more mediocrity years than Romo and Dak did. I say he stays in Dallas 15 years at the least.

Sounds similar to the Romo and Witten relationship! I remember when T.O. tried blowing that up.

Dak just isn’t the answer . Can’t have new excuses every year when you are provided the weapons and can’t do anything with them

You would think we have Dak playing with scout team WR’s. It’s sad how bad he really is. Get a guy like Herbert in here and watch him flourish

So...you can't criticize Dak AND think the defense sucks?
Yes of course you can, but some people just pile on him like “get rid of him” after that game as if it was all his fault. If we had an average D we win that game and likely are undefeated. Dak played bad the first half, but those picks were on the receivers, they had the ball 40min……the focus of the anger should be on the D and coaching, not the guy who regularly is near the top of the league in stats and had us 3 12-5 seasons under Mccarthy. I think people don’t realize how difficult it is to find a GOOD Qb, they think Allen’s and Mahomes are everywhere.

All true. Key the word "also".

The D is horrific, O has been way too sputtery and inconsistent, not to mention TO prone. Both can be and are true.

Why in the world do you pay attention to those people? They're a very small number.

Sure, but that's such a small number of people, are they really worth your time?
