How to move forward at qb?

Nailed it, people just love being blind.
Dan Marino and Jim Kelly never won a Super Bowl precisely because they ran into significantly better, deeper, and more complete teams. During the 1980s and 1990s, the NFC completely dominated the NFL, winning 13 consecutive Super Bowls. Marino and Kelly essentially ran into the buzzsaw of that historic NFC powerhouse era.
LMAO, putting Dak up against these legends is preposterous.

Exactly. At the end of the day, Trent Dilfer has a ring on his finger and his name in the history books because he didn't turn the ball over and ruin his team's chances. Dak turns into a total deer in the headlights when the lights get bright. He's had top-tier rosters, elite wide receivers, and solid defenses, and he still chokes in the Wild Card round at home. The guy couldn't win a ring in February or a ring in marriage

And you're absolutely correct about everything you've posted. With that said, im sure you agree with me when I say, all other quarterbacks who haven't won a Superbowl, names shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence with Dilfer's, correct?

Dak, Josh Allen, Marino, Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson, none of them should be mentioned in the same sentences with Dilfer and every other quarterback.

Every qb you listed wins with the teams dak has had over the years.

Dilfer bus drives dallas to a superbowl with zeke.

Those sound like excuses my guy. They didn't get it done, period.

Well Marino had to worry about the Bills who won went there for 4 consecutive years. The Bills had to worry about a very strong NFC East who they lost all 4 against.

That may be true.... and it may not be true, because the only quarterback that ive mentioned that showed he can win a Superbowl is Trent Dilfer.

The others haven't shown that they can. Im not saying that you're absolutely wrong, but I can't say that you're absolutely right.

Nice try with the sarcasm, but you're missing the point. Nobody is saying Dilfer is a better talent than Marino or Josh Allen. The difference is those guys actually carry their teams to deep playoff runs and play like superstars. Dak has top-tier rosters, folds under pressure, and chokes at home in the Wild Card round. Huge difference between not winning a ring while playing like a legend, and not winning a ring because you play like a deer in the headlights.

If he is sweating before the game even starts, its going to be a long day.

I here your, but Kelly had four tries and failed at what took Dilfer, Foles and Brad Johnson were able to do in their first try.

That is a textbook strawman argument. I never said Josh Allen or Dan Marino shouldn't have their names mentioned with Dilfer. Marino and Allen actually elevate their teams in January—Josh Allen literally has a 101.5 passer rating and 38 total touchdowns in the playoffs. Dak has a losing playoff record (2–5) and throws game-ending interceptions to wild-card teams at home. Stop hiding Dak behind real superstars just to protect him

I see what you're saying, but teams win post season games, not just one person. I dare you take a look at our defensive performances against the run in our post season games over the last 10 years.

Im not excusing Dak for his contributions in our post season down falls, but go take a look at what our defenses gave up just on the ground in our playoff games and then tell me which one of any of the quarterbacks ive listed above had defenses that performed as poorly.

Once again, im not excusing any bad post season play on Dak's behalf, but im making the point that teams win games, not just one player.

Stop using the defense as a human shield for a quarterback making $60 million a year. True elite franchise quarterbacks elevate their teams and overcome bad defensive stretches—just look at what Burrow did, taking 9 sacks in a game. In the 2023 playoff loss to the 49ers, the Cowboys' defense held San Francisco to just 19 points. That is a championship-level defensive performance in modern football. How did Dak reward them? By throwing 2 interceptions, scoring only 12 points, and completely failing his team

No excuses, dak should have been gone after that gb lost at home… how many more embarrassing losses yall want at home!?

No im not accusing you of saying that, I was just making the comment.

And how did i protect Dak behind superstars? Daks named shouldn't be mentioned with any of those guys at all? How is that hiding or protecting?

Dak's name shouldn't be mentioned in the same conversations with quarterbacks who've played in or won a Superbowl. Is this statement considered hiding/protecting?

Its the truth. Since when is truth hiding or protecting?

I agree with you 10000000%. Elite quarterbacks SHOULD elevate their and overcome bad defensive stretches, no argument here. For one, I don't consider Dak an elite quarterback, but based on your statement I have 3 quick questions for you.

1. Why didn't an elite quarterback like Matthew Stafford elevate his team and couldn't win his first playoff game until his 12th season in the NFL?

2. If elite quarterbacks supposed to elevate their teams past bad situations, defenses, etc, why do an elite quarterback like Matthew Stafford get so many excuses for failing to do so?

3. How many elite or non elite quarterbacks have been able to elevate their teams with historically league worst defenses to accomplish anything in the postseason? What are their names?

LMAO notice how you completely ignored the fact that the defense held San Francisco to 19 points and Dak still lost the game by scoring 12? You completely abandoned your defense argument because it got blown up.
And yes, it IS protecting him. You are trying to shut down the conversation about Dak's specific playoff choking by saying, 'well, he shouldn't even be mentioned with those guys.' You brought up Allen, Burrow, and Marino as a shield so you didn't have to face the reality of Dak's awful 2–5 playoff record, his early pick-sixes, and his $60 million price tag. Glad we finally agree he isn't in their tier.
