Cowboys still haven't recovered from Parsons trade yet

I’m not sure why you struggle so much with fans criticizing. Your answer is always bashing fans for bashing actions and results from the Cowboys.

Im not sure you understand the process. I know as a coach you had to take on criticism. Everyone isn’t going to agree with decisions and or results wanting an explanation. Thats all part of being in a public position.

We don’t need to have solutions or be as knowledgeable to be able to inquire about how you’re going to resolve and address the issues as well as holding accountable. That’s what the public does . It’s all part of our democratic system not silencing the critics.
Probably because I dealt with many fans in my 30 years as a coach, many good fans with honest and respectful opinions and many idiots that just like.to.scream and whine louder than everyone else. So, if they can do it, why can't I? Many can dish it, but can't take it. Get all offended when they are questioned and then can't let it go.

Then again. Downs does podcasts all the time and I haven’t heard a peep about it.

I think the whole podcast thing is overblown. It’s just what a lot of players do nowadays. There’s tons of them that do podcasts or YouTube videos.
You have just given them reason to start hating on Downs.

The Jerry part is correct but let’s not ignore the fact that Micah begged to be on the line and sold out for sacks.
I don't know that to be true. It's been mentioned on the board but that doesn't prove anything.

Until there's proof I'll assume it's board speak.

i'd rather have Micah, a player that can consistently pressure the QB, than this horse crap we have had since the trade. you have to upgrade at every position without an elite pass rusher. jerry and staff are terrible talent evaluators on the defensive side. they got lucky with parsons. he was supposed to be an LB and didn't know how elite his pass rushing moves were.
Last year, six days before the opener, Jerry and Stephen sat at the media table and told fans that a pass rush by committee would not only make up for the loss of Parsons but surpass him.
  • 2026: 17 (projected)
  • 2025: 35 - Clowney - 8.5
  • 2024: 52 - Parsons - 12
  • 2023: 46 - Parsons - 14
  • 2022: 54 - Parsons - 13.5
  • 2021: 41 - Parsons - 12
  • 2020: 31 - Lawrence - 14
  • 2019: 39 - Quinn - 11.5
  • 2018: 39 - Lawrence - 10.5
  • 2017: 38 - Lawrence - 14.5
  • 2016: 36 - Mayowa ! - 6
Not only did Parsons lead the team all four years he was here, he made the other pass rushers better.

It’s possible he didn’t beg, but his play on the field said “sell out”. Again, not all his fault.

But but. He had a podcast and was worn out by the end of the year and I didn’t like how he spoke, and he was mean to Jerry!

Have not Recovered?
:lmao:

Last I knew Parsons himself did not put us over the top.
I will take what we have and give it another year.

I have always believed in excellent outside edge pressure/sacks had a natural trickle down effect to improving all 3 levels of the defense.

The Cowboys just never had the middle pieces at DT. MLB or safety to compensate for the glaring holes in the middle when Micah and DLaws group were getting lots of sacks and causing lots of turnovers.

IF Parker had a talented edge room to go along with his other 3 core piece defenders QW, Barham and Downs, this defense would be night and day improved.

I was at the GB playoff game where Micah’s defense gave up 6 TD’s in the first 7 drives.

IF you take what we have and don't extremely upgrade the edge, linebacker and corner positions with another year's worth of draft picks and free agents then Parker or someone new will AGAIN produce the same results as these last 2 years.

QW, Barham and Downs need help at all 3 levels.

The current roster lacks talent as previously mentioned and needs extreme personnel improvements.

It won't matter who the coach is AGAIN if they try to run it back with these same jags and scrubs.

Need to get a few injured players back they were counting on. Then maybe Bland is benched.
See where they are at in 3 or 4 weeks once they get back.

Players like Thompson, get Porter more involved. Revel comes along. And whoever else is out that may return soon.

No I am not using that as an excuse. There is no excuse. I am just saying, they need to be healthy and time to gel when healthy.
Hopefully it is not too late. To me the next 2 games are must wins, ad are critical regardless who is on the field.

A couple more games and the defense will be almost average. The coach and players will start to learn.

I follow and agree but my post had a little more for the future perspective behind it knowing both Porter and Durant need contracts and to me, they are the 2 best cover corners on the team.

For the right here and now of players returning from injury which Durant and Porter are also, I agree with your opinion.
