Players returning from injury/updates?

Season is not over yet. Fans should expect to wait and see.
Oh, so these last five games don't matter? Wait and see for what? The players are going to turn this around from 31sr in the league to the top 10 when they had all of the mini camps and training camps to do that.

This is what they hope will happen, if it does we get happy about this and are hopeful in the off season only to come back out in 27 to do the same

They will not finish top 10. I said that way back in June.
But play like a top 12 in December and the playoffs.
Right now it does not seem they can or will. But I am willing to give it those next 5 games.

However no matter how they play they must win, even if they need to score 50 points a game.

Overshown was two weeks originally, wasn't he? But in typical Cowboys fashion that turns out to be a month.

The extra days rest will help. That mini-bye if you will. JPJ should be back. Lamb (quad), Guyton (back) and Durant (hammy) should be ok. Clark (hammy) and Agent 0 (hammy) are still big question marks.

Typing that out it seems like we have a hammy problem!
A trip to Thailand will take care of that.

TB just provided a blueprint to dismantle GOTI no matter the second half adjustments. The offense couldn't must 30 points.

Depends of teams up their blitzes or not. Dak was off, way off. But he also has been known to do very well against the blitz.
There lies the problem. TB didn't blitz to stop the run, they blitzed to stop the pass. With the return of Tylor Guyton they should run the ball more.

Exactly.

Cowboys fans need to stop expecting two things: the QB to be perfect 17 games per season, and for other teams to be unable to affect the outcome of games.

The possibility the Buccaneers played very well has never been entertained. It's just the Cowboys messing up.

To answer the OP, we could possibly get Durant and Overshown back this week. Overshown is the most likely to play. PJ Locke is on injured reserved, and it looks good for him to return Week 8. Jalen Thompson is also on IR and could possibly return Week 9.

My first season as a Cowboys fan was 1970.

The first game I watched, the Cowboys lost 52-17 to the Vikings. A few weeks later they lost on Monday Night football to the Cardinals 38-0. The Cardinals were in the NFC east at the time and they were leading the division after 9 games with a 7-2 record. The Giants were 6-3 and the Cowboys were 5-4 and looking very bad.

You want to discuss an embarrassing defeat? That 38-0 game against the Cardinals was on Monday Night Football and the color analyst was Don Meredith.

So, you think Stephen Smith is annoying? Howard Cosell tormented poor Meredith all game long. He wouldn't stop and it probably took every inch of restraint for Meredith not to deck him. Cosell was not a Cowboys fan.

The Dallas media was calling for Tom Landry's head.

Ironically, this was when I decided to be a Cowboys fan. I actually felt sorry for them. This was a 14-game season so there were two games behind the leader with 5 games left to play. They would have to win out to be division champions. There was only one wild card team in each conference and it wasn't going to be the Cowboys

And that is exactly what they did.

After losing to the Cardinals 38-0, the defense just came alive. It was a complete reversal. The Cowboys beat the Browns 6-2. In the playoffs they beat the Lions 5-0.

How do you go from being scored on 52 and 38 points to allowing only 15 combined points from your last four regular season opponents? I don't know.

That season, the Cowboys came within 3 points of winning their first Super Bowl.

They went on to play in 9 of the next 12 conference championship games and 4 of the next 8 Super Bowls.

Now this season, after only 5 games I can't say that a turnaround is impossible because I saw it happen and it was a large contributing factor to my being a Cowboys fan for life.

I don't really expect it. I didn't expect it in 1970.
