I remember Archer and a few others mention they give the DC's a lot of say over the draft when they decide to go defense that round. Which sounds good in theory, unless the DC they hire isn't that good.

The owners let Rod over rule the scouts on Shariff Floyd, which I guess in hindsight was decent due to drafting Frederick after a trade down. But it also lead us down the path of DTs aren't important for a decade.
And then rumors Rod wanted Taco has his size over TJ Watt.

Nobody knows. People will stick to whatever side they are on but all I did was hear people hype up this scheme. This scheme can’t work if you aren’t getting pressure. So I don’t know what their plan is.

I’ve heard the same. Mazi and Taco were Cowboys because coaches wanted them. This idea Jerry forced those picks are silly. He sucks at his job but all he knows is what’s told to him.
