Joe Buck & Troy Aikman had an argument surrounding their ESPN contract situations

Aikman's contract expires after Super Bowl LXI in February 2027. And he thought he would get an extension by now. He has said he wants to stick with Buck too. 25 years is a long time. Hopefully Aikman won't punch Joe in the face on-air and this gets settled.

These guys have been together longer than any broadcasting team in nfl history

Buck is probably the longest close relationship Troy has had in his life outside of his family.

I’m sure they’ll work it out

The issue is how stupid ESPN has been to go to the altar with Pat McAfee and Stephen A while putting the best team in sports in such a tough spot.

Aikman is well positioned for a big payday. ESPN probably wanted to get Buck out of the way so they could figure out what it is going to cost to keep Aikman.

It’s a contract year.

What’s interesting is that Troy has now publicly talked about his dissatisfaction and alluding to his confusion about whether he is valued

In negotiating terms, this is a half step away from requesting a trade, lol

CBS is probably in panic mode after seeing JJ in the booth. I am not sure what restrictions Aikman's current contract place on his ability to test the waters of opportunity, but he will be a hot commodity at the end of this season.
