Joe Buck & Troy Aikman had an argument surrounding their ESPN contract situations

It’s a contract year.

What’s interesting is that Troy has now publicly talked about his dissatisfaction and alluding to his confusion about whether he is valued

In negotiating terms, this is a half step away from requesting a trade, lol
Next thing we know, he'll be laying on the crafts services table eating nachos.

Aikman bleeds green, but not new money green unfortunately for him.

Aikman's contract expires after Super Bowl LXI in February 2027. And he thought he would get an extension by now. He has said he wants to stick with Buck too. 25 years is a long time. Hopefully Aikman won't punch Joe in the face on-air and this gets settled.
That would make for some damn good TV if it happened.

Sounds like Aikman needs a job after this season. Do it Jerry.

Troy Aikman this morning on @dfwticket about rumors of tension between him and Joe Buck. “There’s probably a time and a place for all that. I don’t know if now is the time. I don’t know if it’s hard to figure out kind of what happened. I’ll broadcast through this season and I’ll be a free agent at the end of the year and kind of see what happens. I’m looking forward to whatever the rest of this season does hold and the Super Bowl and all that and where my next landing spot may be.”

Buck has always been, is, and will always be an arrogant low talent prick.

If he wasn't Jack Bucks boy, he'd be shoveling s%*t at a St Louis hog farm.
So are many announcers. However, he does have an iconic voice people are accustomed to with football and baseball.

Aikman offers virtually nothing. Generic drivel.

Moose is far better. So are a bunch of guys

Why? He'd be useless.
you don't think Aikman would be solid in a FO role?

Not just saying that because he's a ROH/HOF/Super Bowl MVP Cowboy.

Saying it more because he understands the championship mentality better than anyone currently on staff.
if nothing else there would likely be some accountability and a genuine change in culture (not like what we hear was coming from Schotty)

or are you more saying--it wouldn't matter anyways because ultimately Jerry would still neuter him and make all the decisions?

I'm saying--if he wasn't Jack Buck's boy, he never would have gotten a sniff.

The greatest play by play guys have a way of describing the action in such a way that it enhances what you are seeing with your eyes. It's not about them. It's about the action. Al Michaels. Jim Nantz. Verne Lundquist. Keith Jackson. et al.

Whenever I am listening to Buck, I get the feeling he is trying to make sure everyone knows how awesome he is. It's about him.
Always had that same vibe from Bob Costas as well.

Buck got his shot because of his surname IMO. He's an unlikeable dick and detracts from almost every broadcast he's a part of with his smarmy elitist tone.

Can he evaluate talent? No.

Does he know how to run an organization? No.

He was a great player, though somewhat overrated, a million years ago. That qualifies him for nothing. That has zero to do with a front office job.

That's like saying Bill Belichick would have been a great linebacker because he was a great defensive coordinator.

We need a Howie Roseman or John Schneider, not a token former player from a time long past.

My guess is any beef has with Buck is probably wanting Buck to hold out with him and both sign at the same time. Buck got an offer and took it, and Aikman either wanted more than offered or never really offered a deal.
