What I have noticed

Ummm....our offense is currently ranked 7th in the NFL, and was ranked 2nd in '25. Not sure how we have improved?

Talent to win a Super Bowl on D?
Yardage is a really bad measurement and I wish it wasn’t the default

EPA (expected points added) is much better

2026: 4th
2025: 3rd

Just my two cents

If we had a run game...the offense would go to the next level. Running the "same" routes would not matter as much, if they did not know when we are are going to run and/or pass. But when you cannot run...it makes defense a lot easier for the opposition.

Schottenheimer has improved the offense by making Dak drop deeper in the pocket this season to try and alleviate his tendency to panic when the pressure is on. Dak now drops about seven yards back immediately on every pass play
It was a very smart coaching move.
The defense is not bad talent wise, but they lack motivation and purpose. There is enough skill on the defensive side of the ball to win a Super Bowl if they feel they have an identity that matters to anyone.
Too much hype has been put on the offense, as if the Cowboys are going to win on offense alone. People forget that these players are human, and if they don't feel appreciated they don't give that extra effort.
The Cowboys still have one glaring problem, but Jerry has added enough talent to the offense to attempt to win in spite of that problem. No quarterback in history has had better weapons than this year's Cowboys, and it would be enough under normal circumstances.
The Buccaneers were able to defend against the Cowboys offense because they knew that the Cowboys receivers run the same routes over and over again.
The Bucs simply sat on those routes and it made defending them much easier.
When the Cowboys defense held the Bucs but the Cowboys offense didn't deliver, frustration and memories of the past set in.
Like I said; the Cowboys still have one glaring problem that they refuse to fix, and even the Cowboys playrrs know it. When the events of the past keep happening again, it's human nature to be frustrated.
Stopped reading as Dak is one of the best QB’s under pressure. Do your research before sticking foot in mouth.

I may not fully understand what "expected" points means, but by name along it is a stuid measurement and only takes into effect best case scenario? If we use EPA, then we should also measure a stat suggesting points that only occur because of other circumstances such as nice catch/blown coverage, etc? Maybe I am missing something with this way of looking at things

Schotty hasn’t improved anything and has in fact made everything, the offense, defense and special teams worse.

The misconception/realitly with the Dak under pressure theme is we remember times where he's blown it, and he looks like a deer in the headlights. For the most part he is quite calm under pressure, but we remember the costly mistakes more, which is natural for a fan of this team

He’s made the offense one of the best in the NFL. He needs help in clocking management. Can’t make this **** up Cowboys fans *****ing about one of the best offenses in the NFL. Saying, “He made it worse.” :muttley:

Nope, but not putting Schotty on a pedestal with the team he inherited from MM, and has done little to nothing to be considered of building it to where it is at
Who’s putting Schotty on a pedestal? He’s lost at least 1 game if not more. His game management is horrendous so far. I haven’t see anyone put him on a pedastal except you and your agenda.

Yes, he has but he’s not on a pedastal because of his game management. Quit the booze and read the entire post.

They have been moving the ball and scoring more per possession.

The gross ranking on yards is lower primarily due to the defense giving up long drives and limiting opportunities to score.
