Romo was the better QB, so it can get hard to compare. Romo elevated the team, Dak doesn't.Wut?
Dak has easily had the better supporting casts.

Similar to 2014, but a crap defense. Those defenses were not good. A ball control offense protected that defense, and God forbid, don't turn the ball over. The 2016 team was good, but no defense like that ever got to a SB.Ahem...2016. For one. Very strong team...but built for a veteran QB.
He’s worse than any QB that’s ever won? Hurts is so much better? IdkDak Tards make me chuckle
As I normally tell people... They're good enough to keep their jobs, but not good enough to win it all. There are a lot of QB's that fall in that category. That's fair and I'll co-sign the criticism.
One thing I want to distinguish, though. Dak and Romo are good enough to average out at about 9.5 wins a season (rounding here, and also considering issues with 16 v 17 games).
That puts us in a precarious position, because we tie up money and also end up drafting later because of these two guys. Getting better with them is genuinely tougher than striking gold with a rookie contract (not ground breaking stuff).
Then you look at Josh Allen who gives you roughly 11 wins per season... a big jump and a truly elite QB of his era.
But Josh Allen has only ever gotten 1 round further than both guys, also.
And I guess the point I want to make is this; I feel for FO's who have a good, franchise QB and feel they need to retain them than looking for the 'real deal'. Obviously because you may just search the desert forever, but also, even if you find the 'real deal' (Allen), it may not mean that much difference anyways in ultimate success.
A bit of rambling, but again, team construction is super important, and this FO just fails at that.
So if our offense is so good, why don;t we have "ball control"?Similar to 2014, but a crap defense. Those defenses were not good. A ball control offense protected that defense, and God forbid, don't turn the ball over. The 2016 team was good, but no defense like that ever got to a SB.
In Dallas...that's not sayin much.As I normally tell people... They're good enough to keep their jobs, but not good enough to win it all. There are a lot of QB's that fall in that category.
I think it would've been better if they'd kept the other TE they drafted with Ferg. Can't remember his name but he was faster and more energetic. In Dallas...that's not sayin much.
Ferg still has his job.
Dalton Shultz?I think it would've been better if they'd kept the other TE they drafted with Ferg. Can't remember his name but he was faster and more energetic.
That's about 21/30 years of pain. 2/3 of the total futility we've experience is at the hands of Romo and Dak.Dak Prescott has a career regular-season record of 22-25 (.468) against teams that enter the game with a winning record.
Tony Romo had a regular-season record of 19-32 against teams with a winning record (above .500) and an 8-10 record against teams that finished at .500.
So for all of the guys touting how Romo was a much more capable QB, this stat shows the falsehood in that statement. They are pretty much the same QB. Both are known to put up good numbers yet crack in high pressure moments in big games against above average competition.
Just for the sake of comparison
Tom Brady 74–47
Highest number of wins against winning teams in NFL history.
Patrick Mahomes 22–12 (or ~64.7%)
One of the highest win percentages against winning competition in the modern era.
Lamar Jackson 14–4
Strong track record against winning teams, including standout single-season marks.
What’s your source for this info. lol I helped my sister do a report on Romo for middle school and he had more than 19 wins against teams with winning record.Dak Prescott has a career regular-season record of 22-25 (.468) against teams that enter the game with a winning record.

Because it was all their fault. That's about 21/30 years of pain. 2/3 of the total futility we've experience is at the hands of Romo and Dak.
Don't forget the panic sweat.Exactly how I feel. Always felt we had a chance with Romo. When Dak gets the thousand yard stare in the second half, I turn the TV off……
I get it and agree...but also, not their fault ever. LOL! doh!Because it was all their fault.
What in the entire ___.
Romo has the stats but people don;t want to admit it. They won;t even watch Romo highlights because it destroys their made up lies. What’s your source for this info. lol I helped my sister do a report on Romo for middle school and he had more than 19 wins against teams with winning record.
Oh...well THAT's original. You found a play from 20 years ago not even playing QB.I get it and agree...but also, not their fault ever. LOL! doh!

Let's ask Dak to hold a kick and see what happens.
Meanwhile...haters like you won;t even watch one second of this:
Yes...when you post that you're a hater no doubt.
I mean I have no problem with criticism against Romo but I don’t like lies. Dude said Romo only won 19 games against teams with above 500 record and that’s simply not true. Thats why I wanted to now where he cited his sources for this info.Romo has the stats but people don;t want to admit it. They won;t even watch Romo highlights because it destroys their made up lies.
Garret was the opposite of the man that essentially made romo as good as he was.I mean I have no problem with criticism against Romo but I don’t like lies. 2006
He beat the Panthers(4-3), Colts(9-0), Giants(6-5), Falcons(7-6)
2007
Romo beat the Giants(6-2), Commanders(5-4), Packers (10-1)
2008
Romo beat Packers(2-0), Bucs(5-2), Commanders(6-3), Giants (11-2)
2009
Romo beat Falcons(3-2), Eagles(5-2), Saints(12-0 ruined their bid for a perfect season), Eagles(11-4)
2010
Romo beat the Texans(2-0)
2011
Romo beat 49ers(1-0), Commanders(2-0), Bills(5-3)
That’s already 19 wins against teams with a above 500 record and he still has 3 more full seasons.
Romo actually had a decent record against winnings teams to start his career. It didn’t get and until Garrett took over.
Dak started out good against teams with winning record his rookie season but then that record took a nose dive after His rookie season was over. Especially against winning team outside the division.
Romo needed Parcells for a couple more years. I DO believe he could've gotten over the top. I def don't hate the guy.Garret was the opposite of the man that essentially made romo as good as he was
Hint: they're literally the exact same player. This is an interesting topic and rabbit hole to go down. There’s been talk about how if Dak is not on the team then we’ll be back to the Quincy Carter days. I’ve come to realize we haven’t recovered from the Aikman retirement and we’re still in the post Aikman rebuild. I like Dak and I like Romo but there’s some things I want to throw out.
Quincy Carter only came one win away from the peak of the Romo and Dak years. Carter lead this team to the playoffs and lost in the WC round. Dak and Romo have won a WC game. Hence Dak and Romo only got us one game closer to the success we want than Carter did.
Both Dak and Romo have great end of half and end of game stats but quarters 1-3 they put us in a bad position and have inflated stats to try and pull us out.
Dak and Romo both have quantitative stats showing they did not perform well against higher tier teams and qualitative data to back up the stats, this adding to fan frustration and polarizing both QBs.
Both are limited in their game.
Both have incredible back stories that make them very likable.
My belief is Dak and Romo are not that much better than Carter but are more marketable, likable, and have inflated stats that present themselves as fools gold. Dak and Romo have been good enough for us to not completely rebuild and sell out and get a top tier draft QB prospect but have been enough to keep us hovering around .500 and bad playoff performances.
I don’t think we ever left the Quincy Carter Clint Stoerner “Stone Age” of QBs and franchise futility, we just have a guys that we like better than the immediate guys that played QB after #8 retired.
