Mike Pettine reports directly to Schotty!

I guess I'm not following the outrage. If I bring in an auditor to work with and support my accounting staff, that auditor would report to me too, right? Was this guy sold to us as working under CP or was that just assumed?
I agree, but tbf it’s not just been assumed: Parker’s comments (which reeked of arrogance and defensiveness tbh) indicated Pettine will be working under him.

I think Parker’s going to be in for a nasty surprise…

Can't say I'm surprised. It's a cluster. IMO this is indicative that Shotty is on the hot seat, as is Parker.
As they should be. They, along with the Jones, have made this a soft team. Time for some tough love and who cares who’s feelings get hurt.

I wonder if it's the same structure they planned all along? They had previously offered Mike a consulting type gig but he was on vacation and declined at that time.

No he's not you agree at the same time you disagree christian Parker's the DC he's the boss this isn't even a consultant role mike Pettini is a senior defensive assistant it's like an assistant head coach but for the defense You're still working under your boss parker's the boss and he's not in for any surprise This is just an addition like you would go trade for a player which we did in Joey Porter Junior Is your adding to the defensive staff someone who's very experienced with this defense that help get the message to the players that is it it's a extra set of eyes to help teach this defense because apparently the assistance that Parker had here are failing this is more representative of the defensive line coach the linebackers coach these guys are not teaching well and they need help so Parker can be free to come up with game plans and split up his duties so maybe we can speed up transition to a 34.

You are just nuts with your reactions and your replies yeah it's a overreaction he was never brought in here to threaten Parker's job or to make a point parker wanted him here before the season started and now he's got the man he wanted to help much like Schottenheimer got Adams and Riley those were his key targets mike Pettini believe it or not was one of the first choices parker wanted to bring on staff but he wanted to remain Retired that's it y'all are Beating way too much in this and are way too passionate about getting rid of Parker it's not happening.

This sounds like a power struggle between Schotty and Jerry ensuring....interesting. Get your popcorn
How is it a power struggle Yeah I mean the head coach you you want him to be honest up front and demanding about things he needs and wants is not a power struggle Parker wanted this they talked about what could get done the beginning of the season he wanted Mike Bettini he didn't get him now he has him there's no power struggle there's no jobs being threatened or seats being heated up..

All the reading way too much into this this is like the trade for Joey Porter Junior They added a player they thought could help the defense they're adding a staff member that can help the defense it's the same thing just one's a coach 1's a player.. There's nothing to see here except for Christian Parker's the DC he's the boss he answers to Brian Schottenheimer brian Stottenheimer answers to Jerry But Mike Bettini he's just a senior defensive assistant that's it that's his title He's not an assistant head coach he is not Christian Parkers boss and that was never intended.

all asst's report to the head coach.
don't see it as "news".
they should just fire parker and move forward.
but we are not a serious football team or organization.
and we do not have a serious football gm.
we have an owner who plays pretend.
Right, there's nothing wrong with that II thought Brian Sodenheimer was the boss and he's supposed to be overlooking every aspect of his coaching staff so how is this a shock Christian Parker still Mike's boss Mike still answers to Parker as well but apparently they want to make sure there's no gaps in communication on things that might need addressing or fixed it accelerates the communication between Parker and Schottenheimer gives Parker more free time to work directly on the defense.

How this can be viewed as a negative is beyond me. Id get it if Jerry saidMP reported directly to him.

But the HC saying coaching staff reports to him is a nothing burger.

LOL.

No it doesnt, because Jerrys door is always open.

Which is why no HC has ever had success here since Jimmy.

The players KNOW the coach has 0 say.

I remember when Wade came here. He wanted to fine players for tardiness, dress code etc.

Jerry said no.
Same with Garrett. Garrett wanted to fine Zeke for missing practice or being late or something and Jerry said no to that.

You already got Jerry saying Parker will be in the booth...while Schotty says he will be in the sidelines

YUCK WHY?

You know who this reminds me of?

You ever see Horrible Bosses?

Colin Farel plays the son who takes his dads business with the plan of running it into the ground and using the money for drugs and women lol.

That will never happen with the Cowboys but thats the vibe I get.
