Yeah it's perfectly normal for a defensive assistant to report to the head coach rather than his own coordinator. That in no way undermines Parker.

Coordinators are supervisors to position coaches….doesnt mean positions coaches dont have to do what coordinators ask of them

But it shouldve been made very clear that the Buck stops with Schotty

Just like i report directly to the school principal…doesnt mean i dont have to listen to the department lead

Now if Pettine reported directly to Jerry then it would be an issue

Idc i need Schottenheimer to be the big booty in charge

When Brian Schottenheimer said on @1053thefan Friday morning that Mike Pettine reported directly to him and not to Christian Parker, it raised some eyebrows.

Asked about it at the press conference later, Schottenheimer said, "I didn't really think about it because to me it was a very easy answer: When you're the head coach, coaches, they report to you. I don't think there's many structures in the league that are any different than that. And yeah, so to me, when you're the head coach, they all report to you. And Mike Pettine's no different."

Pettine is scheduled to meet with the media in a little while.

I blame Shotty for the lack of discipline and focus. The team is loose. The first and goal failure in the Baltimore game falls on him. IMO the penalties and dropped passes fall on him not getting his players focused. Sure, one can say performance falls on the players, but there are certain coaches that these things don’t happen to. They instill discipline and get the payments ready to play and know how to win. Look at the commanders game, what a fiasco. That’s all on the coach.

You can blame whoever you want i'm just telling you I disagree it's not all on him and other coaches make the same mistakes all around the league last weekend there was like a handful of coaches that made worse mistakes and they were seasoned coaches so let's be clear regardless of what you think he is not costing his team wins that would be the defense and special teams again I want to hear about Schottenheimer or the offense I just don't too bad so sad moving on..

Correct but according to most around here a monkey can do that job so maybe there's an assistant monkey who has some better ideas than he has but I get what you're saying though I agree i'm saying I'm surprised they don't use them as a scapegoat 'cause that would be a good place to go to make a good point brought the rest of the team Heads are gonna roll'cause you probably want to get rid of him anyway..

He's...fine. His Green Bay defenses were pretty average.
